Best 2008 Honda CR-V Trailer Wiring Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best custom fit vehicle wiring options for your 2008 Honda CRV. Up top we've got the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number 118427. On the bottom we've got the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number C55106. The biggest difference that you're going to see between these two wiring harnesses is on the Tekonsha, the converter box is circuit protected so even if there's a short in the trailer, or in the wiring for our converter box, it's not going to go back and blow the fuse on the vehicle. The next difference we'll see is in the amperage ratings that's going to be on each circuit on the 4-pole wiring. With the Tekonsha it's going to be rated at 5 amps on the taillight circuit, and 2.1 amps on the stop and turn signal circuits. On the Curt it's going to feature 5 amps on the taillight circuit, but 3 amps on the stop and turn circuits. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2008 Honda CRV we're going to be taking a look at the and installing the CURT t-connector vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector, part number C55106. Here's what this wiring is going to look like once it's installed. As you can see, it's tucked away, but when we lift up the cover for our cargo area we'll find it tucked down here by the spare tire. When we want to use it, it's as easy as pulling it out of the cargo area to the length that we'll need. Then we'll just lay it down here along the threshold in our weather stripping. You just want to keep it away from the latch area so that it's not going to get hurt or damaged in there. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda CRV

Today we are going to install part number 118427 from Tow Ready, and this is a T-1 connector for a 2008 Honda CRV. This T-1 connector actually installs inside the vehicle, so let us have access to the inside. We will open up the hatch and show you what panels need to come out. Remove this panel here and then we need to remove this threshold right here, and that way we can get access to this interior panel here so we can get behind it. You have two plastic rivets at the bottom. They are kind of different - you push the center and they pop out. It just takes gentle pressure and then it will pop out. And then this panel we will need to pull loose, and there is one rivet right here. Way back in the back you can see the white connector with light blue tape around it. That is the connector you need to get into. It is about two feet deep in there. more
