Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Ford Transit T150- Video
Well neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2016 Ford Transit T-150. Adding 4-pole trailer wiring harness to a Transit is a great idea if you have a hitch because if you ever plan on pulling a trailer, you're gonna need to get the lights sequence to be able to go to the lights on the trailer, and this is a great way to do it because it plugs in directly to your factory style plugs that you have on your taillight. And this one is module protected, meaning any back-feed that might occur from the trailer, it's not gonna harm anything on the vehicle. Not only is it module protected, but it also has an inline fuse, so you don't have to worry about any of that causing issue. Now as far as installation goes, this is pretty easy. You're gonna take your taillights out, and we're gonna be plugging 'em in there. more

This is gonna give you a 4-way connector on the back of your vehicle, giving you running lights, brake lights and turn signals with any trailer that you plan on towing. And even some accessories like bike racks will utilize something like a 4-pole to give you those signals at the back of a bike rack if you plan on using that with your Sportage. Our connector is located pretty far down underneath but it's attached to a bracket on our hitch. Not included, but it does utilize that really well in our kit, our kit today and the kit does come with a dust cover to keep it protected whenever it's not in use. more

Now the main reason for installing a four-pole wiring harness on the back of your vehicle is because you're wanting to pull a trailer. Either that or you're wanting to haul an accessory that might have brake lights on it. There's a lot of accessories out there, bike racks and cargo carriers that have accessory lights on the back 'cause your state might require if your tail lights are blocked or even if you have an accessory in the back that you have to have auxiliary tail lights. Those are the two biggest reasons of why you would want to put four-pole wiring on the back so that you can transfer those lighting signals safely to the accessories or to your trailer to let others know what your intentions are. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT seven pole trailer wiring on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Now this is gonna be a great addition to adding a hitch to your vehicle, whether you have a trailer as a seven pole or if it needs a brake controller. This is gonna be the first step of that because you're gonna need that seven pull function that's gonna allow you to get a harness and brake controller installed super easy. Overall, this installation is pretty simple. It's using that factory plug, so really you should be able to knock this out in about 15 minutes or so. And when you're thinking about installing a gooseneck or a fifth wheel in the bed of your truck or if you already have one, installing an in-bed wiring kit in my personal opinion, is going to be a must. The only other way to run wiring to your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer is to run that wire over top of your tailgate. And what that can do is over time you'll get some, especially on a white truck like we have here, you'll get some black marks, the cord itself could get rubbed, many, many times when you're turning the vibrations of the cord hitting the paint job could rub the paint off your truck. Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500. We're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite 5th wheel and Gooseneck In-bed Wiring Kit. Now, the biggest reason why people like to put a wiring kit in the bed of their truck is so that when you're hooking up to your 5th or your gooseneck you've got all the components in the bed of the truck that involve hooking up to your trailer. So you hook up to your 5th wheel or your gooseneck trailer and while you're in here making all your connections, you take your wire and you plug it right into the side of your truck. The only other option of plugging in a gooseneck or 5th wheel is to drape the 7-pole wire over your tailgate and plug it into the 7-pole down by your bumper. more

Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Bargman fifth wheel and gooseneck in bed seven pole. Now, the biggest reason why you would want to install a seven pole in the bed of your truck is because when you're hauling a fifth wheel or a gooseneck, both of those are typically going to have your standard seven pole plug on 'em, and it's much more convenient to plug it in here and not have anything draping over the tailgate of your truck. Typically, what people do if they don't have in bed wiring is they'll run their seven pole from the gooseneck or fifth wheel over the the tailgate of their truck and plug it into their seven pole. Well, there's a couple of problems with that. If you're doing that on a regular basis, chances are at some point you're going to forget that it's plugged in and pull away with it still connected because the wiring will be looped down here, you could disconnect from your camper, or your gooseneck trailer and pull away and your wiring will still be underneath plugged in. more

So this is gonna plug into your OEM port here, and extend it out to the end of the hitch, so it's easier to add a seven-pole plug. Let's check it out. So if you wanted to add a seven-pole plug on the outside here at the bottom of your hitch, you wouldn't be able to reach it with your OEM plug. You see how it doesn't quite get there You can try and put it there, but the bracket is just not gonna line up right. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Nissan Titan, and we're gonna be taking a look at the Hopkins Four-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness. Now this Titan is going to be prepped with the tow package, so there's going to be a seven-pole plug up here behind the bumper. It's not, it just has a little tab that is securing it, and you can pull it down. And then your four-pole connector will plug directly into this USCAR connector. This is going to allow you to have a four-pole at the back of your vehicle to connect to a trailer. more

Adding a four-pole wiring harness to your Durango is gonna allow you to pull trailers with four-pole wiring on them. This will allow you to safely transfer the signals from your vehicle to the trailer, letting others know what your intentions are on the road. It's going to transfer four signals, which will be your left turn, your right turn, your taillights, and your brake lights. Now, there are some accessories out there that will take a four-pole to be able to run the lights on 'em. more

Curt 5th Wheel Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Curt custom in-bed wiring for fifth wheel and goosenecks on a 2017 Ford F150. If you have a gooseneck or fifth wheel, you have a seven pole from your trailer that you need to plug in and instead of draping it over your tailgate and trying to get into your factory seven way you can get this harness extension which plugs into your factory seven way and allows you to plug in in-bed making it nice and easy to have your plug right here. It's gonna keep that cable nice and protected in the bed as well. Super easy to do. You are gonna need to drill a hole and being that this is an aluminum bed, it's nice, they actually come with some zerk fittings that you're gonna put in there that will allow you to get this on your aluminum bed with no problem. It's not gonna cause any rust or corrosion long term. more
