All right, today on our 2014 Toyota RAV-4, we're going to show you part number C12108. This is a class 2 inch and a quarter trailer hitch. Next, we'll give you some measurements, to help you out in selecting some accessories for your hitch, such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From top of the receiver opening down to the ground, we have a measurement of thirteen and a quarter inches, and from the center of a hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper would be about two and three quarter inches. All right, now, this is what our current trailer hitch looks like when it's installed on our CRV. First off, it has an inch and a quarter opening, and on the bottom, it has two hooks for your safety chains. All right, and this uses a half inch regular hitch pin, okay, we can see it has a round tube that goes all the way towards the frame. There's frame brackets that go up from the tube, wrap around the body work, or a trunk pan, and then go through some threaded holes that are in the vehicle. All right, now while we're on the passenger's side, we can see how much clearance we have between the exhaust and the hitch. more

First thing we need to do is go ahead and get our vehicle ready to install the hitch. On the passenger's side, we'll need to clean out these two threaded weld nuts on the frame. We'll go ahead and spray them down with some lubricant and we'll use a tube brush to help clean out the threads. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Rav4, we'll be installing the Curt Trailer Hitch receiver. Part number C12108. Now here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. In the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the tire carrier in this case is about 5 1/2 inches. From the top of the opening and the receiver to the ground is approximately 13 1/2 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We're going to first begin here at the driver's side rear of the vehicle. We're going to need to remove the tow hook by removing the 2 bolts that hold it in place. Now we will not be reinstalling the tow hook or reusing the hardware. Next we're going to need to remove 2 rubber hangers that support the exhaust. There's 1 here and the other one's right here. Now we'll go ahead and install safety strap before we remove the rubber hangers. Next we're going to go ahead and use a little bit of spray lubricant on each of the rubber exhaust hangers to make them slide off their hanger just a little bit easier. Now we'll go ahead and use a large pry bar to remove each of the rubber exhaust hangers. With the rubber exhaust hangers removed, we can go ahead and lower the exhaust down a little bit to give us a little more working room. Now let's go ahead and point out the 4 inaudible 00:01:41 point locations that we'll be using. more

Today on this 2004 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be installing Draw-Tite Hitch part number 75125. We'll give you some measurements to help you select accessories like a bike rack and a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the farthest out part of the vehicle which, in this case, is the spare tire that's mounted on the back of the RAV4, we have 10 inches and from the ground to the top of the receiver opening the measurements 15 5/8 inches. Now we'll go ahead with our installation. The first step is to remove the tow bracket on the driver side of the vehicle. The tow bracket and bolts that are holding it on will be returned to the owner and will not be reused. more

From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 13 inches. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2002 Toyota RAV4- Video
On this 2002 Toyota Rav 4, were going to install part number 75125 from Drawtite. The first step involved is to take down this tie down bracket. We will show you where the hitch is going to mount up in the frame. It is going to use these two existing studed holes in the frame. On the passenger side it is going to be identical. And what is nice about this is that the bolts in there are relatively easy to clean out. On the other side though there is not a tie down bracket take a few moments to clean out those threads over there. We will work on that next. :28 more
