Today on our 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Softride Dura Parallelogram. This is a tilting style 4-bike rack. It's been designed for use with inch and a quarter or a two inch hitches. The part number on it is SR26247. As you can see with this rack design, we've got two threaded holes here on the passenger side. Just so as for reference as I'm taking measurements, I'm going to be installing the bolt in the first hole. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch here. more

Now to begin our test fit we slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll line up our pinhole with our hitch pinhole. more

We need to slide it in far enough, so that the threaded hole lines up with our hitch pinhole. We can then slide in our anti-rattle bolt. Well do that from the left to the right hand side, and well begin tightening it down by hand.Once we have it hand-tight here, as you can see, we still got quite a bit of movement and play on the rack, so well take our wrench. more

Today on our 2013 Subaru Outback we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom SuperClamp. This is a two-bike platform style rack. It's Part Number is SA4025. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll slide it in far enough so our threaded hole lines up with our hitch pin hole. We can then thread in our anti rattle bolt and we'll run that down hand tight, and we'll use our wrench to finish it off. We can then use the provided lock from Saris, clip it on the other side to secure it. We're going to have about 11 and a half inches worth of ground clearance here at the base of the shank and about 18 and a half here at the rear of the rack. more

Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we want to be sure that the pinhole in our rack lines up with the pinhole in our hitch. With those in line we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt, slide it in from the left to the right, and tighten it down. We'll use a wrench for the final torque process. more

Saris Axis 3 Bike Rack Review - 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today, on our 2006, Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Axis, three bike rack, part number SA843B. We'll begin out test-fit by sliding the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin holes. We'll then take our anti-rattle bolt, and threat it through our pin holes. Now we'll go and tighten it down using our socket wrench. Once we have that tightened, we can secure it with the lock on the other side, and tightened it down with the anti-rattle bolt. It's going to take out any wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. more

Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback wagon, we'll be test-fitting the Hollywood Rack Traveler 5-Bike Rack, part number HR9200. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin hole and then thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We'll go ahead and install it hand-tight and then finish securing it with our socket wrench. Tightening our anti-rattle system up is going to help remove rattle and wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. We'll go ahead and install our clip on our other side. more

Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan 4 Bike Rack, part number S63410. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin holes, and then we can thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We're just going to go ahead and install it finger tight, and then we'll finish the securing process using our socket wrench. Tightening up our anti-rattle system is going to take out any rattle or wobble that we may have inside the hitch. We'll go ahead and install our clip on the other side. With our bike rack in this position, it's going to give us a ground clearance of right at about 14". more

Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-bike rack, part number HR8500. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin holes, then we can thread in our anti-rattle bolt. Now, we're just installing this finger tight and then we'll grab our socket wrench and tighten it all the way down. This is going to help reduce the amount of wobble and rattle that we have inside of our hitch. We'll take our clip and secure it on the other side of our pin. With our bike rack in this position, it's going to give us a ground clearance of about 11". more

Now we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our Subaru is about 3 1/2 inches. We've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Rack for inch and a 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, Part Number TH9025. We'll being our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch allowing the attached hitch pin to fall into place and then using the hand knob to secure the bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. We have a ground clearance of about 12 inches. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about 2 inches. We've added about 12-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Subaru Outback Wagon. Now we'll pull the lever at the base of the bike rack, and allow it to tilt away from our vehicle. more

Now, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 10 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about four inches. We've added about 14 inches to the overall length of our Subaru Outback Wagon. We'll pull the safety pin at the base of the bike rack and allow it to tilt away fromour vehicle. more

We have about 13 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our Subaru is about eight inches, and weve added about 22 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more
