But, it is not wide enough so we are actually going to have to make it a little wider so our parts can fit through. We are just going to use a hammer and a chisel. We are just going to check and see if our block fits through. And it seems like it does so that is a good sign. 0:41 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1999 Honda Odyssey

Today on this 1999 Honda Odyssey we are going to be installing part number 87479. This installation will also apply to part number 75270. The first thing that we are going to need to do is we are going to have to lower the exhaust from the exhaust mount in the rear of the vehicle on the passenger side and the one up towards the middle which is the second to last one. And it helps to have a strap to mount on the bottom of the vehicle, underneath the exhaust, to hold it up to keep from damaging the rest of the exhaust further up from the vehicle. So, if you can not find any mounting spots for your strap, you can probably just go ahead and use the existing rear springs. You want to just loosen it up enough to where you have a little bit of play so you can at least move around the exhaust to take it off the hanger. You can go ahead and tighten the strap to keep the exhaust from hanging down further than necessary. 0:50 more

As you can see here at the end, we have two existing weld nuts in the frame that we are going to be using as the two attaching points for the trailer hitch. And then over here on the passenger's side, we have the same two weld nuts that are also going to provide the attaching points. And you can see, we do have the exhaust in the way, so we are going to want to lower that down first. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 24787 from Draw-Tite on a 2006 Honda Accord. This installation will also apply to Hidden Hitch part number 60953. We are underneath the vehicle. The first thing we want to do to gain access to the frame rail is to go ahead and lower the exhaust down from the passengers side frame rail. There are actually two hangers that we are going to need to remove to lower the exhaust down. The one here on the outboard side, about midway up the muffler here, that is going to need to be pried off. And I definitely recommend to spray it down with some form of spray lubricant, like a WD-40. It makes the removal a lot easier. And the second exhaust hanger that we are going to need to lower is a little bit forward here of the muffler, right dead center of the car. more

Today we are installing a hitch on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline hitch number 75280. We are going to start off showing you the holes where the hitch will mount up to. It is these three here and it is the same on the other side, plus being two more on the fascia. The first step to lowering the exhaust, sometimes it helps to spray some type of lubricant on the hanger itself so you can take off the rubber grommet easier. So after you do the first one, then you do the same to the back. In some cases, after you lower the exhaust, the heat shield that is around it may come down, as well, so you have more clearance and more access in getting to the bolts on the hitch install. In this case, the heat shield is flexible enough to just move it out of the way to get the hitch installed. more
