Now believe it or not the frames change so little over the course of the Cherokee's life that these three hitches fit everything from 1984 to 2001.Now the three hitches we're going to be looking at today are all class 3 hitches. That means they're going to have the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. Now the most popular of the three hitches we're looking at is part number 13084. That one's from Curt. Today, on our 1998 Jeep Cherokee, we'll be installing Hidden Hitch, part number 87591. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. Such as, a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 16 inches. Now, let's go ahead with installation.
