Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2011 Ram 1500 model, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex, a Folding and Tilting 4 Bike Rack designed for use in 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then tighten it down with our wrench. In this position, our rack is going to offer us about 18" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the truck is about 3-1/2" away, and overall we've added about 12-1/2" to the length of our Ram. We'll now pull the gray lever located here at the base of the center mast. This allows us to tilt it away from the vehicle, and as you can see we can fully open our tailgate. With our tailgate closed, and our mast back in its upright position, we'll now pull the gray lever located at the top of the mast. This allows us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With our arms extended, we've added about 36" to the length of our pickup. We're now ready to load up our bike. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2011 Ram 1500 model were going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack designed for use in inch and a quarter or two inch hitches, part number TH934XTR.To begin our test fit were going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well want to keep an eye through the pinhole here to see when we have that hole lined up with it. With our hole lined up well take our anti-rattle bolt, place it in and thread it through. Well then use our wrench to tighten that down. You can see that secures it nicely.Well now get a set of measurements here to see what kind of clearance were working with. more
