We've got two wheel straps for our wheels, and then we have a wheel hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot- Video

Today, on our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima Swingdaddy 4-bike rack for 2-inch hitches, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. The biggest feature about this rack is they can swing away from the vehicle, so you have full rear hatch access, which is pretty unique for a hanging style back rack. To do that, we'll come to this handle right here. We'll unscrew it from the back all the way until it hangs down, and then we'll lift up on this gray tab here, which will release it, and push it out a little bit. We'll pull it out until it's about 90 degrees or so from the vehicle or before we make contact with the tire to the vehicle, and then we'll swing it around until you hear that click, and then push it the rest of the way. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be taking a look at the Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack, part number TH9054. Now we already have our bike mounted and it's going to mount using three different attachment points. Now each wheel's going to have a strap going through and it's going to have a rubber coating to protect our wheels. If we come to the back side, there's going to be a gray button and if we push on that button, we can go ahead and pull our strap out. We can do the same thing on the back wheel as well. With the wheel straps loose, we come to the knob on the back and we can loosen up our clamp. We rotate it out of the way. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Patriot we're going to be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Pro 2-bike platform rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TH9054. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is gripped to the bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have this frame clamp up at the top here as well as these two wheel straps on either side. The wheel cradles themselves, by lifting up these gray handles, are adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes, and these clamps do move out of the way for easy loading and unloading. One of the more prominent features of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with two bikes still attached to get to our rear hatch. In order to do that we'll pull this silver pin at the base first, then pull this lever towards while holding onto the bike rack and letting it come down. Now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need, and plenty of space in between the hatch and the bike rack. Lift it back up into position by just lifting up on the bike rack until you hear it click. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Classic Platform Style Two-Bike Rack. That's part number TH9044. One of the great things is that it actually holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We have the large wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure to the front-wheel cradle, and then for our rear-wheel cradle we've got a strap going over that keeping everything in place. Now, this bike rack's also going to work with fat-tire bikes, so that's a really nice feature, that you can carry all kinds of bikes. One of its best features though is that it has the ability to tilt away so we can gain access to our rear hatch. The way that works is we're going to come down here. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Jeep Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider platform-style 2-bike rack. That part number is HR200. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. At the front and back tire we have hook and loop straps that are going to hold our tires down into our cradles. Then at the center we have a frame hook which holds our bike tires more securely into our wheel cradles. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Beta Two Bike Rack, part number B202-2. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First up we have the cradles here which aren't in a fixed position. They have these grooves here so your cables for your brakes can actually fit through there and not get smashed up against the frame once it's installed. It grips your bike at three points. more

Today, in our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider platform style two bike rack. That's part number HR200. I've already got it loaded up on the Grand Cherokee, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our two bikes. It actually secures our bikes with three points of contact. We have this rubberized hook, putting down pressure on our top two, into our front and rear cradles. Then after we've got that set, we've got a hook and loop strap going over our wheel. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee B202-2- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat Beta Hanging Style 2 bike rack. That's part number B202-2. I've already got it loaded up on the Grand Cherokee just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our 2 bikes. It actually holds our bikes in 3 points of contact. We have 2 straps for our top tube and then 1 for our seat post tube. The one for our seat post tube's going to help prevent sway in our bike while we're on the road, prevent bike to bike contact, as well as bike to vehicle contact. All in all, a nice bike rack to have to get your bikes from A to B. Let's go ahead and take our bike off, though. We'll press in on our little button here, just guide that strap out. One more thing I'd like to point out is you'll notice that the arms here are closer together than most hanging style bike racks. That's going to allow you to carry a wide variety of bikes regardless of their frame design. I'll take the bike off. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Jeep Patriot- Video

Today in our 2011 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack, part number S64650. This bike rack will fit both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. We already have our bike installed so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the other features. How it actually attaches to the bike rack we're going to have one point of contact, and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top. Now, it's padded so once you install your bike, it will not get scratched up. It also has the wheel cradles which are adjustable along the arms of the bike rack itself by loosening up and tightening these knobs. more

I've already got it loaded up on the Grand Cherokee just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It secures our bikes with 3 points of contact. We've got 2 straps, for the top tube, and then we've got 1 strap for our down tube. This one's going to be anti-sway strap. more
