Your brakes can erode faster, your tires are going to wear unevenly, your handling is going to suffer because the weight is in the back and it's lifting those front tires off the ground, so you're not going to have as much control over your steering. They are a custom fit, so you don't have to worry about any cutting or drilling, but these are going to give you that load leveling capacity to help get your truck back to ride height. A lot of times whenever you're towing anything that's heavy, especially a fifth wheel or something like that, where you're putting a lot of stress on that back end of your vehicle, you can start to get some problems.Number one, going to off-balance things, so now the back end is sagging down, the front end is coming up, points your headlights up where they don't need to be instead of pointing down at the road. And also it's going to be putting extra stress on that back suspension. Also, by lifting up the front end, you're messing with the steering geometry and the camber of your front tires. more

So now, in our 2013 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Timbren rear suspension enhancement.One of the things we like to do before we put our Timbrens on is take a few measurements to see how our suspension will be affected. Right now we do not have our Timbrens installed and we don't have any weight in the bed of the truck. Let's go ahead and see where our ride height is. Here at the back of the truck from the ground, the edge of the wheel well is going to be 39 and one quarter of an inch. And here at the front of the truck, if you take that same measurement from the ground to the wheel well, it's going to be 36 and a half inches. more
