Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best brake controllers available for the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500.Now these brake controllers have been chosen for a few different reasons, ease of use is the most important. We really like one that's not too hard to use, but also our experience with them here in the shop, we have our favorites. Then also our customers. We like to look at all of your guys feedback, and see which ones work the best for you, which one you like the most, and then present them to you so you know which one's going to be the right one for your situation.Now all the brake controllers that we're going to look at today are proportional controllers. It's a newer technology available, and it is really just a lot better than what the time delayed systems used to be. Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Proportional Trailer Brake Controller. This is going to work for one up to three axles. It's part number is TK90160. The Primus IQ, again, is a proportional brake controller, which is going to give us great advantages over the older time-delayed systems. With those systems it was a pre-set power range. You hit your brakes. The level of power escalates till you get to your top setting. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 90885- Video
Today on this 2009 Chevy Silverado, we are going to be installing Prodigy P2 brake controller part number 90885. Okay to install the brake controller on this Chevy Silverado, we first need to locate the brake control wiring package. It comes included from the factory, and this particular vehicle does not have a brake control port like other models do, but it actually has the loose wires attached for us to attach directly into. There is going to be a blue, a red, a light blue, an orange and a white wires. So if we find those, go ahead and cut the tape that is holding them and that will allow the full lute of wires to protrude down below. 0:37 more
