Trailer Wiring Harness Adapter Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Impala

Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Impala, we'll be installing the Hopkins Adapter for the 4-Pole to 7-Pole, as well as a 4-pole, part number 37185. Additional parts that we'll be using today is the Draw-Tite no-drill Mount Bracket in a long, part number 18136. We'll also be using some dielectric grease, which is part number 11755. To begin with, we're going to go ahead and connect the bracket that holds the 7- and 4-way connector to the long bracket. We'll do this using the screws supplied. Once we have that done, now were ready to go ahead and mount our bracket onto our hitch. We'll use the big hose clamp that comes with the long bracket, which is part number 18136, to connect our bracket to the cross member on our hitch. Once we have this tightened down, next we'll go ahead and use the hardware supply to connect our 7-pole, as well as our 4-pole, connector to the bracket. With this connected, now we're ready to go ahead and plug in our 4-flat to our vehicle's existing 4-flat wiring. more

Today on this 2002 Chevrolet Impala we are going to install part number 118002 from Tow Ready. This wiring harness is pretty easy to install because everything is going to be available to hook into on passenger side of the vehicle behind the carpet here. I have theses fasteners here just to make it a little easier to get the carpet down. All right and with this wiring harness right here we will go ahead and test each individual wire to find out its function and we will go ahead and make the appropriate connection. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Chevrolet Impala

Today we are going to be installing a 4-pole, part number 118002, on a 2004 Chevrolet Impala. OK, we are inside the trunk area, and we want to go ahead and access the wires that we are going to be tapping into for our wiring harness. Those wires are actually located directly behind the tail light assemblies on both sides of the vehicle. In order to gain access to those wires, we are going to need to go inside the trunk area and we will first off need to remove these three screws per side and then pull back our carpeting. And you can actually see there are two more set screws that we are going to need to remove as well. And with all the set screws removed, I can go ahead and pull the tail light assembly off. As you can see, here is our main wiring harness, feeding the drivers side tail light assembly here. We have got three wires here. We have got a brown with white, which is going to be the running light lead that we are going to be tapping into the yellow, which is our left turn and left brake signal and then the black, which is the standard ground. And then what we want to do is to take our yellow wire here off of our wiring harness, and we want to go ahead and we are going to attach it directly to the yellow wire on our tail light assembly. more
