Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2024 Toyota Camry

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the CURT Class 1 trailer hitch receiver on a 2024 Toyota Camry. Camrys are some of the best, most reliable sedans you can find out on the road, but when it comes to maybe doing some explorations or adding to your adventures, maybe it's not the most suited, but that's not to stop you from being able to have a bike rack, cargo carrier, or even towing a small trailer with it. Your other options include having a roof rack on your vehicle to be able to put that cargo rack or a bike rack and that's not a bad option. I've gone that route on my car and then I finally ended up going with an inch and a quarter hitch. And that was all that was available for my vehicle. And that's kind of the case with this, but not to worry, it's really nice to have that hitch because I've used it for many different things, not just my bike rack. more

Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Installation - 2022 Toyota Camry

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install this CURT Class 1 Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2022 Toyota Camry. So with this being a Class 1 hitch it's gonna be pretty limited in terms of weight capacity but if you're looking to carry something like a bike rack or maybe a small cargo carrier or even tow a very small trailer it can certainly get the job done and it really expands the function of your Camry. I think most commonly it's probably gonna be something like a bike rack, and our neighbor today is gonna be using this for a bike rack. With a 200 pound max tongue weight rating it's going to be more than enough for most bike racks loaded up with some pretty standard bikes, maybe not the best option for E-bikes but with the Camry your options are gonna be very limited. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2021 Toyota Camry

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt Class One trailer hitch receiver on a 2021 Toyota Camry. This is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Camry. And the great part is it's a hidden cross tube, meaning the only thing that you're gonna see exposed from the hitch is gonna be the inch and a quarter receiver tube opening and the safety chain loop. So you get a nice clean look, but with all the usability of your hitch. Now, being that this is a class one hitch the engine a quarter does limit you a little bit when it comes to ball mounts, bike racks, or cargo carriers. But I have one on my own personal vehicle and that's really all that's available. more

Right here, we have the Curt hitch and right here we have the Draw-Tite hitch. Now, if you we're to ask me what one I would personally use, it would really just depend on what I was looking to do and what performance I was looking to get out of the trailer hitch. If I was someone that was wanting to use a little bit bigger accessories, like three, four bike racks, maybe potentially pulling a small trailer around, hands down I'd go with the Draw-Tite for a couple different reasons which we'll get to you in a minute. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2020 Toyota Camry

Hey everybody, Ryan Curtis trailer. Today on our 2020 Toyota Camry, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt trailer hitch receiver. So probably my favorite thing about this hitch is the way it's going to look, in my opinion, it's almost going to have a factory appearance. Really, it's almost completely hidden for the most part. The only thing you're going to be able to see is the receiver tube opening, and to me, that would be really important if I owned one of these Camrys and that's because in my opinion, they do look really good. So you wouldn't want your hitch to tip away from the looks of your Toyota. more

This is what it's going to look like when it's on the vehicle. You can see our cross tube is visible but it stays nice and tight up against the bottom of the vehicle. So it's really not going to take away from the look. It's going to be a steel construction, black powder coat finish, really going to hold up well against rust and corrosion. more

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2015 Toyota Camry, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver. Now, even though our hitch is visible, it is going to sit up nice and tight against our back bumper, but whenever the vehicle's on the ground, it's not going to be that noticeable but there is a upside to that and that is the ease of use. Everything will be out in the open and really easy to get to. Many of our Camry customers plan on using some fold-up accessories, like bike racks, and this hitch is going to work really well for those and that's because of the clearance it offers. The end of the receiver tube is going to stick out just a little bit past our back bumper, so that'll work perfect. Now, this is a class two hitch, so it's going to have that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening, a reinforced collar for some extra strength, and it's also going to have the half inch size pinhole. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Toyota Camry

Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36416 on a 2009 Toyota Camry. This hitch installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 90152. OK, the first thing we want to do is to open up the trunk. And we need to remove our spare tire, because we will be drilling some holes through the spare tire well. As you can see here on the passengers side, we are going to need to actually lower the exhaust. You want to go ahead and use a strap or something to hold the exhaust up, because once you remove the final hanger, it will considerably. We are also going to go to the forward side of the exhaust. We need to remove the exhaust off the rubber hangers here, and here as well. You can see we have a reinforcing bracket that we are going to need to remove. And with the exhaust lowered and the brackets removed, we can go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. We have got two weld nuts here in this bumper flange that we are going to go ahead and use as two of the attaching points on each side. Once we get the hitch mounted into these weld nuts, there are two tabs that are going to be going into the spare tire well - which, we are are going to use the hitch as a template and drill holes through there. Then next, we want to go ahead and remove the two fascia clips here at the bottom of the bumper. When we mount the hitch, it will allow the cross tube to go up and behind the bumper. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Toyota Camry C12343

Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 12343 on a 2009 Toyota Camry. We are underneath the vehicle now, and I am going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch before we get started. As you can see here on the passengers side, we have got the main exhaust. There are three bolts here at the bottom of the frame holding the exhaust bracket on. We are going to to need to remove those, and the hitch is actually going to go up in that same mounting location, using those same three holes. It is also going to use the weld nut here on the vertical flange here, nearest the bumper. You can see we have a reinforcing bracket that we are going to need to remove there are three bolts to take that off. The attaching points, again, on the drivers side, we are going to be using this same vertical flange. We are going to use this existing weld nut, and this one as well. This one you can see is covered by tape, so we are going to need to remove that first. And then this tab on the outboard side of the frame as well. And again, I am just cutting out the sticker to expose the weld nut and the frame. Some of these exposed weld nuts might have a considerable amount of corrosion in them. If that is the case, you want to go ahead and spray them down with some sort of lubricant, and maybe get a wire brush in there to clean them out really well before you get started. more

Today we are going to install part number 12339 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2003 Toyota Camry. Before we begin our install, we will show you exactly where the hitch will mount up on the vehicle. First off, on the passengers side, it will mount up on these three bolts right here. We have taken these three bolts - one, two, three - and those will be replaced with the bolts that came with the hitch. Moving over to the drivers side, there will be couple of different varieties, depending on the vehicle you have. They will always have these two holes right here. On some varieties, there will be no holes here or maybe two existing holes. Or, in this case, there is actually one hole underneath the sticker right here. You will not actually know until you look underneath the vehicle. And there is a threaded bolt hole. So, in this case, we will only be using these three holes. more
