Now there's a few different reasons why you would want to install a trailer hitch on your Altima. One of which is going to be, if you want to use it for a bike rack, you can. The Altima you're not gonna be able to put a bike in the back of an Altima very easily or at all if it's an adult's bike. There's a few cargo carriers that are designed to fit 1-1/4 hitches out there. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Nissan Altima- Video
Today on our 2010 Nissan Ultima, we're gonna be installing Curts class 1, 1 1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver. Part number C11352.Then this is what our hitch is gonna look like when it's installed. The cross tube is gonna be visible, but it's gonna be tucked back pretty far, so you're really only gonna notice the receiver sticking out the back. It's a class 1, 1 1/4 by 1 1/4 inch receiver, so it's gonna be great for all of your light towing needs. From bike racks to cargo carriers, and very small trailers.It uses a half inch hitch pinning clip, now one doesn't come included with the hitch but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com.It features plate style safety chain loops, with a fairly large opening, so it should accommodate most safety chains. It features a 200 lb tongue weight, that's the force going down on top of the receiver, and a 2000 lb gross towing capacity. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Nissan Altima - Curt- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Nissan Altima we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class I Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, Part number C11352.So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. That cross tube is going to sit right below the bumper, but the main thing we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. Now it is a class one which means it's going to give us that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening and it's going to be great for bike racks or even cargo carriers.As far as the safety chain connection points go, it's going to be a plate style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube and as you can see we're not going to have too much trouble getting most size hooks on or off and slight off set from our hitch pin hole means we're not going to have to worry about interference with our hooks, with a locking device or the hitch pin itself.Our hitch is going to have a 200 pound towing weight, which is going to be the maximum downward force at the receiver tube. It's also going to have a 2000 pound gross trailer weight rating which is the amount it can pull including the trailer and everything you have loaded on it. Now with all those numbers in mind, you always want to double check your Nissan's owner's manual and never exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight. Now if you do plan on doing some light duty towing, keep in mind there are specific ball mounts available and designed for this hitch, and you can pick them up here at etrailer.com.There are two euro style draw bars with permanently attached balls on them. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Nissan Altima - Draw-Tite- Video
Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Nissan Altima you'll be having a look at, and being shown how to install, the Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number: 24796. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One nice thing about this hitch is that it's very well tucked up underneath our vehicle, and behind the vehicle, so you don't have to worry about running your shin into it or having it stick out past the bumper causing an obstruction. It's a nice clean look on our Altima. On the side of our receiver you'll find our industry standard 1/2" diameter hitch pin hole for securing any of our hitch-mounted accessories. Welded onto the bottom of our receiver is our rolled steel tubular design safety chain loop, which is easy to hook onto for most sized chains. more

You have to enlarge 1 of the holes in the frame rail to feed your carriage bolts and your spacer plates into it. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Nissan Altima - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on our 2016 Nissan Altima, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the draw-tite sports frame class 1 trailer hitch receiver. This offers the inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening, its part number is 24796. All right, now here's what our hitch is going to look like installed on our Altima. As you can see, we kind of have that cross tube that's going to come across the rear here, not quite hidden up behind the inaudible 00:00:24 but I think standing behind the vehicle you're not going to see it too much. It's going to come to the center here where we've got our inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. It's a class 1 hitch, this is going to be perfect for your small hauling needs, smaller bike racks, smaller cargo carriers, things like that. See our safety chain connection loops around the bottom here that'll allow you to connect maybe a bike lock, safety chain connections, whatever you need, it's pretty nice and open. Now, to secure all your items, you're going to use the half inch diameter pinhole, this is going to work out really well for whatever class 1 accessory you should choose, there's plenty of room whether it's a locking hitch pin or anti-rattle bolt, whatever you might need. Now when it comes to weight ratings on our hitch, we have a 200 pound tongue weight rating, so that's the maximum downward force we can put here at the receiver tube opening, and it's going to give us a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's going to be the total weight of our trailer and anything that we we're to load up on it. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Nissan Altima - Hidden Hitch- Video
Today, on our 2007 Nissan Altima, we're going to be reviewing, and installing the hidden hitch, customer-fit, class one, trailer hitch receiver, part #60873. Now, you'll see, with the hitch installed, it's going to have that nice, sleek look tucked up underneath the backside of the vehicle. It's going to be that square tubing all the way across the bottom. You're going have that inch and a quarter by an inch and a quarter receiver tube, with a half-inch pinhole going straight through. We also have your chain tie-downs on either side, and the black powder coat finish to help prevent any rust or corrosion. Maximum tongue weight that you can place on your receiver is going to be 200lbs. Maximum tow is going to be 2000lbs. Now, we'll go ahead and get some measurements to help you with selecting bike racks or cargo carriers. From the center of the pinhole, to the outermost part of the bumper is going to be about six inches. From the top of the receiver tube, to the ground, it's going to be about nine, and a quarter, inches. Now, we'll show you have to install the hitch. more

Today on our 2008 Nissan Altima we will be installing the Draw-Tite trailer hitch, part number 24796. Now we'll give you a couple measurements to help you choose accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 10-1/4". From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outer edge of the bumper is 5-1/2". To start our installation, first thing we need to do is get into the trunk of our car. We'll need to remove the floor mat, floor liner, and the spare tire cover. While it's not necessary, I'll go ahead and remove the spare tire just to give us a little extra room to work. With everything prepped in the trunk of the car we can now move beneath the car and get ready for the hitch. more

Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch such as a ball mount, bicycle rack or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 6". From the ground to the top of the opening on the receiver it's approximately 10". Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. To begin with we'll need to open up the trunk, then we'll need to remove the carpet from the rear of the trunk as well as the fiber board that covers the spare tire or storage bin tray if there's one present. In this case we went ahead and removed the spare tire as well so that we'd be able to vacuum out the drill cuttings once we we're done drilling the holes. Now we'll need to go ahead and go underneath the vehicle. more

Before we get started with our hitch installation, we are going to go ahead and show you a couple of the final install dimensions which are going to help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier.
