Trailer Hitch Installation - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina - Draw-Tite

Today on our 1997 Chevrolet Lumina we'll be installing the Draw Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, Class 2, 1 1/4-inch, Part number 36193. Actually we have our Class 2 hitch here on our Chevy Lumina. It gets tucked underneath the bumper. The only part that's really sticking out here is the actual shank. See it has a nice collar around the neck of the shank. You have a little extra support here. You have easy access to your tow loops and your half-inch pinhole. The nice thing about this hitch is you don't have to drill any holes. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1994 Chevrolet Lumina

Today we're working on a 1994 Chevy Lumina. We're going to install a Draw-Tite hitch, part number 36124. Here are a couple hitch measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the bumper is 9 and 1/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 11 and 1/4 inches. We're going to need to lower the exhaust, but before we do that, we're going to put a safety strap underneath just so we can control how far the exhaust will fall. To remove the hardware from the muffler, we're going to remove the bolt that goes through the rubber insulator. With that bolt removed, I'm now going to go ahead and remove two of the rubber hangers on the exhaust pipe. To remove them, first we're going to spray them down with some spray lubricant. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina

Today on this 1996 Chevrolet Lumina we are going to install part number 24628 from Draw-Tite. Our first step is to remove the rubber hangers from the exhaust bracket and this exhaust bracket here we are actually going to be removing because there is a third hanger behind the muffler that should hold up everything just fine so we do not have to worry about damage. We are looking at the passenger side of the vehicle. If your vehicle had dual exhaust then you are just repeating the same steps on both sides. This is our exhaust bracket that we took off. We have it oriented right now the way it was sitting on the vehicle. The part we have to remove is this part right here. We just have to cut this little part off and basically we can just start reassembly and the installation in the hitch. 00:50 more
