Adding a two-inch hitch receiver's gonna allow you to do a couple of different things. One, it's gonna allow you to haul accessories on the back, like bike racks and cargo carriers. Or if you want to tow a small trailer when paired with a trailer wiring harness, you can tow small trailers using a ball mount paired with your two-inch hitch receiver. more

Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2024 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hey, guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox, and we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite Class II 1-1/4 Hitch Receiver. Being that this is an 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 Hitch Receiver tube opening, that is going to be the size of the opening itself. It is not going to be the most common size out there on the market. A 2-inch hitch receiver's gonna be the most common size if you're looking for the most variety of accessories, but there's a couple of circumstances in which this 1-1/4 is gonna be just fine for you. The first one is gonna be like a lot of my friends, they switch from vehicle to vehicle, but all their accessories are 1-1/4 because the vehicle that they had before it, there was only an 1-1/4 hitch available for it. more

Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install, the CURT Class 2 inch and a quarter Hitch Receiver. Adding the hitch receiver to the back of your Equinox is gonna allow you to haul different accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts, if you wanna pull a small trailer. I will say if you're planning on pulling a trailer, you will want to install a wiring kit too so that you can get your trailer lighting functions from your vehicle. One of the biggest reasons why people like to go with an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter hitch receiver tube is because they already have accessories from an older vehicle that they had that had an inch and a quarter hitch receiver. Me personally, I would go with one of the two inch hitch receiver tube options for the Equinox because it has a pretty impressive tow rating and if you ever want to pull a trailer, you can do that with it. more

Now there's a couple of different reasons why you would want to add a hitch receiver to your vehicle. The Equinox has a lot of space on the inside, but when it comes to hauling a bike rack, or hauling bikes, or hauling extra cargo a bike rack or a cargo carrier is a very, very good way of getting that stuff to where you need it to go. Bikes don't fit very well in the back of the Equinox. A cargo carrier, you know, even in trucks you could always use a little bit extra space. more

And this one being a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening is one of the best sizes as far as picking up accessories. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver on a 2023 Chevy Equinox. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Equinox and the great part is this is a hidden cross tube. So the only thing that you're gonna see hanging down from the bottom of the vehicle is the two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening. And that's really nice because being the two inch means that it's pretty universal. So you're gonna have plenty of options when it comes to cargo carriers, bike racks, or ball mounts. Now all of those are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip and that is not included with the hitch. more

Hi, John with E Trailer, today we got a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox and we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class II Receiver Hitch. We've got an inch and a quarter receiver opening on this class II hitch. It does have a nice, it's a gloss powder coat finish on here. It's gonna accept a half inch pin and clip. Now, this particular one, it has the smaller inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening. So you are somewhat limited to the things you can do with it. Personally, I'd recommend this one if let's say you already had an inch and a quarter accessory or you we're really only planning on using a smaller bike rack or something along those lines this would be a good fit. Especially too, because being a little bit smaller it looks a little bit better when we're discreet. more

So right away, probably the main thing that separates this hitch apart from some of the others is that it's going to be a little less visible. Really the only thing you're going to be able to see is the receiver tube opening. But at the same time, it's really going to depend on how you're looking at it.If you're looking at your car directly from the back, this is the only thing you're going to be able to see. But if you're looking at it from the side, this one does have a lot longer of a receiver tube, so that's going to be a little more noticeable compared to the ones that are more visible that hang down and have a shorter receiver tube.Many of our Equinox customers use their SUV's to do a little bit of everything. more

Today on your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox with a diesel engine, we'll be installing Draw-Tite's Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver.The crosstube is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper, so you're only going to see the receiver sticking out the back here. It's a Class III 2" x 2" receiver, so it's going to be great for all of your towing needs, whether you're putting a bike rack or a cargo carrier in it for your accessories, or if you want to haul your trailer down to the campsite for a weekend bringing your boat or maybe bringing a pop-up camper with you.It uses a 5/8" hitch pin and clip. Now, one doesn't come included with the hitch, but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com. It features vertical plate-style safety chain loops with a pretty large opening that should accommodate most safety chains. Just to the rear of our hitch pinhole, you'll also find a smaller hole and this allows for the use of a J-pin. more

One thing I really like about our etrailer hitch is the finish. It's going to have a flat black, carbide-style finish to it, opposed to the high gloss finish that we usually see on hitches. Now, this carbide finish is going to help protect it against rust and corrosion, but it's also going to hide scratches a lot better and easier.And since it's a Class III hitch, it's going to give us a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, and we're going to have a really wide variety of accessories that we can mount up. Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 36642.The nice thing about this one, compared to a lot of the other ones on the market, is the fact that our cross tube is going to be hidden behind the bumper here, and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Now, the big benefit of that is not only does it look better, but it is going to provide us a little bit better ground clearance because we're not going to have this tube sticking down below the bumper, going all the way from side to side. Our hitch is going to provide us an 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube opening, which is going to be great for bike racks and some smaller cargo carriers.The way we're going to mount any of our accessories is through the hitch pin hole here on the side. It is going to accept a standard half-inch pin and clip, and while these aren't included in the kit, you can pick them up here at etrailer.com. As far as the safety chain connection points go, it's going to be a loop style, welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and as you can see, we're not going to have too much trouble getting most size hooks on or off, and we'll have plenty of room.As far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 350 pound tongue weight, which is the maximum downward pressure at the receiver tube, along with a 3,500 pound gross trailer rate rating, which is the amount it can pull, including the trailer and everything we have loaded on it. The nice thing about this one is that the cross tube is gonna be pretty well hidden behind the rear bumper here and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out.The big benefit to the cross tube being behind the bumper is that we're gonna have a lot better ground clearance. So whether you're backing out of a driveway or going over a bump, we are gonna have a little bit more clearance than some of the other ones that have the cross tube below the bumper.Our hitch is gonna offer us a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, so we're gonna have a lot of different varieties when it comes to any kind of accessory that we wanna mount. Now the way we're gonna mount all of our accessories is through the large pin hole here on the side. Our hitch is gonna accept a standard 5A spinning clip, and while these aren't included in the kit, you can pick 'em up here at eTrailer.com.The secondary hole towards the back of the receiver tube here is gonna be exclusively for the J-pin stabilization device. That's gonna be nice if any accessories don't have a built in anti-rattle, and the way it's gonna work basically it's gonna have this hook, we'll slide threading section into our pin hole, and then that hook is gonna go into the secondary hole and it's gonna apply pressure to our accessory inside the receiver tube. more

As far as weight capacity goes, we found that the Draw-Tite hitch here was the winner because it does have higher weight capacities than the other two hitches. As far as appearance goes, all three of the hitches are going to look fairly similar, but with a different finish that the etrailer.com hitch has with it being more of a matte carbide finish, it is going to be a little bit more durable and scratch resistant, so we're going to give it the winner here.Now, for my personal opinion, if I was going to be buying a hitch for a Equinox, I would ask myself what would I be using it for first. If I had the intention of using it with a cargo carrier that was rated up to 500 pounds, then I would go for the Draw-Tite hitch because it does have the higher capacity and can support a cargo carrier with 500 pounds of weight on it whereas our other two can't.Now, if I was going to be using the hitch just for a bike rack, or if I was going to be using it to tow a trailer and the weight capacity of the tongue rating didn't matter, then I would go for the etrailer.com hitch because it does look the best on the vehicle and its finish is much nicer, more rust resistant and scratch resistant and will look better on the vehicle for a much longer time.The first biggest difference that we found between our three hitches here today is in regards to weight capacity. Our Draw-Tite hitch here at the top, it has a 675 pound max tongue weight rating and a 4500 pound max gross trailer weight rating, and those numbers don't change if you're using it with or without weight distribution on your trailer. more
