Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2023 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Chevy Colorado and we're gonna be taking a look at, I'mma show you how to install this CURT class three two inch hitch receiver. This hitch is gonna be designed to replace the hitch support that will come factory on your Colorado. Typically the Colorado will come with that bar that's underneath here. You'll see the two safety chain loops sticking out and then there's, you're supposed to drill a hole in the top, slide a goose or a hitch ball down through there and then tighten up the nut. And then you have a hitch mounted on your step. more

And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. It does replace a cross tube that's located underneath that has safety chain loops on it. And this is gonna give you a robust connection here at the back with a two inch receiver for all of your accessories and towing needs. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver here on our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. So this is what our trailer hitch looks like installed. This actually has a hidden cross tube design, which means the cross tube is actually tucked away behind the bumper here. So the only thing we can see is the actual receiver tube, which makes for the best overall appearance. Now, what we can see has a nice shiny black powder coated finish, which is gonna help it blend in with the vehicle well, it's also gonna help protect our hitch from rust. So our receiver here does have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, which is an industry standard size. more

Now it does have a mostly hidden design, and what I mean by this is, the crosstube of the trailer hitch is pretty much gonna be tucked up behind the bumper there. So the only thing we're gonna see is the receiver tube. Now, another thing I really like about this hitch is the finish. So there are a couple of different finish options on the market, most of them have more of a glossier powder coated finish, the etrailer hitch however, has more of a matte powder coated finish, and what this does is it does a better job of hiding nicks and scratches, it also helps them blend in with the vehicle more. more

Today on your 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Draw-Tite's Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver.This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The receiver is going to be visible as well as the crosstube here towards the middle. But it does tuck up pretty nicely and it does kind of mimic your factory support beam here on the bottom, so it doesn't really detract from the looks too much. Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver.Now this is going to be a great option for you, say, if your truck doesn't already have a hitch on it. Or if it does, and it's rusty, getting worn out, this'll be a great alternative for replacement or even an upgrade.One thing I did notice, and I really like is that the end of our receiver tube it's going to come out pretty much flush with the edge of our bumper. Not only is that going to be great for those folding accessories, but it's also going to be really easy to use too. For example, a ball mount or anything else that you want to put in your hitch.Now, one of the things that I do like compared to some of the other ones, is the actual look of the hitch itself. I really liked the round tube, and in my opinion, I think it kind of just blends in a little bit better and looks nicer on the back of our Colorado.Now, since this is a class three hitch it's going to have that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, and it's also going to have a reinforced collar for extra strength. more

On the end of our receiver, you'll find this nice welded collar that helps give this more finished look and helps improve the strength of the receiver opening. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you'll notice, the hitch is mostly hidden behind our back bumper, giving us a nice clean look. The end of the receiver sticks out past the bumper a little bit, so when you're installing accessories in the receiver you don't have to worry about scratching the finish on your bumper. On the end of the receiver we have this nice welded on collar, which helps give us a more finished look and helps improve the strength of the receiver opening. On the side of our receiver you'll find our industry standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure our hitch mounted accessories. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt class 3 custom trailer hitch receiver, pat number C13176.So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross tube is going to fit nicely behind the bumper and the receiver tube is going to be almost flush with the back of our bumper. It is a class 3 hitch, which means it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, opening up a lot of options for any kind of accessory that we may want to use.The way we're going to mount all of our accessories is through the hitch pin hole on the side here, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. Now, these aren't included in the kit but you can pick them up on our website.The safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style, welded to the bottom of the receiver tube as well as the cross tube, and as you can see even with really large hooks, we're still going to have plenty of room to get them on and not have to worry about any kind of interference.As far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have an 800 pound tongue weight, which is the maximum downward force at the receiver tube. It's also going to have an 8,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull including the trailer and everything you have loaded on it. Now, it is designed to work for weight distribution systems as well, and weight distribution is going to be a separate component that's going to be mounted on your trailer.That's going to bump the tongue weight up to 1,000 pounds and the gross trailer weight rating up to 10,000 pounds. more

It's going to sit right below our bumper and the cross tubes will be hidden right behind it. It is going to stick out just a little bit past the bumper, but not enough to really make a difference, maybe a 1/2". But if we come down, farther back on our bumper, we'll see that it's actually going to be pretty close to even with the plastic.It is a Class Four Hitch, so it's going to give us that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, which is going to open up a lot of different options for accessories. Now the way we're going to mount our accessories is through the hitch pin hole here, on the side. It's going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. more

Best 2010 Chevrolet Colorado Hitch Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be having a look at our best hitch options. On the top we have a Draw-Tite Class 3, part number 75607. On the bottom we have a CURT Class 3, part number 13252.Now one of the biggest differences that we found between our two hitches here today is in regards to weight capacity. Our Draw-Tite hitch here at the top has a 600 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 6,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, whereas our CURT hitch has a 400 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 4,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. Now both of these hitches do support the use of weight distribution. However, on our Draw-Tite hitch here, when we're using weight distribution on our trailer, our max gross tongue weight rating increases to 750 pounds, and our max gross trailer weight rating increases to 7,500 pounds. more

On the bottom we have a CURT Class 3, part number 13252.Now one of the biggest differences that we found between our two hitches here today is in regards to weight capacity. Our Draw-Tite hitch here at the top has a 600 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 6,000 little bit max gross trailer weight rating, whereas our CURT hitch has a 400 pound max gross tongue weight and a 4,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. Now both of these hitches do support the use of weight distribution. However, on our Draw-Tite hitch here, when we're using weight distribution on our trailer, our max gross tongue weight rating increases to 750 pounds, and our max gross trailer weight rating increases to 7,500 pounds. more

What this means is the Draw-Tite hitch is a more capable hitch when it comes to towing a trailer or using a cargo carrier that has a heavy load on it. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Colorado - Curt- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 13252.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, we have plenty of clearance around our hitch, making this hitch an ideal one to use with bike racks and cargo carriers. On the side of our receiver here, we have our industry standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. Welded onto the bottom of our receiver and the frame of the hitch itself, we have a plate steel design safety chain loop set up to hook our safety chains on from our trailer. Now, these openings are a little bit small, so if you have large diameter chains on your trailer, you may need to swap the hook out to one that's a little bit smaller. Welded on the back of our receiver here, we have a nice collar to help reinforce the opening in the receiver, and to help give us a nice finished look on our hitch.This hitch features a 400 pound max gross tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down, a 4,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull. more

Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the hidden hitch class 3 custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 87675. So here's what our hitch looks like fully installed on our truck. We are gonna see a partial bit of the cross tube here, and it is a class 3, so we're gonna have that 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. Now, it does have a nice reinforced collar, giving it added strength as well as a nice, clean look. Now as far as our safety chain loops go, it's gonna be a plate-style welded to the bottom of the receiver, and as you can see, we're not gonna have any issue with most sized hooks getting on or off, we're not gonna have to worry about interfering with anything. Now, our hitch is gonna use a standard 5/8 pin and clip that was unincluded, but you can pick them up on our website using part number PC3. Now this second hole here, that's gonna be for the J pin stabilization device, which is great if any of your accessories don't have a built-in anti-rattle. Another nice feature of our hitch is, it does have a built-in bracket right here, so we can mount any electrical components right here, and it's ready whenever we're ready to tow. Now, our hitch is gonna feature an 800 lb towing weight, and a 6,000 lb gross trailer weight rating. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite custom fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76004. What I really like about this hitch is, our Draw-Tite here is going to be on the upper end of the weight capacity, and it's still going to hide the cross tube nicely behind the bumper. We're really only going see the receiver tube opening. it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube, and then you have that nice, reinforced collar, giving it added strength and a nice, clean finished look. The safety chain loops are going to be welded on the bottom, and they're going to be a rolled steel stock style. As you can see, we're not going to have any trouble getting most size hooks on or off or worry about them interfering with anything. Our hitch is going to use a standard 5/8 pin and clip. It's not included, but you can pick one up at our website using part number PC3. more
