Shane: Hi, I'm Shane at etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to walk through how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness on your 2016 Volkswagen Jetta. This is what our wiring is going to look like when it's installed. It's going to give us our fourfold plug to hook into our trailer, so that our trailer can receive light functions from our vehicle, so that we're safe and legal. It's going to live inside the vehicle. When we're not using it we can simply roll it up, put it underneath our panel, in our compartment here, close our trunk, and it's nice and out of the weather.When we're ready to use it, you simply pull it out, lay it over top of this rubber seal and close our trunk. more

Today, on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, we're going to be showing you how to install the Tow Ready T-one vehicle wiring harness with the 4 pole flat trailer connector. Its part number is 1-1-8-5-7-2. This is what our wiring's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. We've got a couple simple connections that we're going to make. We've got our red and green wire that's going to be connected in-line behind our passenger side tail light. We've got our yellow and brown wire. more

Today on our 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number is 118572. Here we can take a good overview of exactly what the wire kit's going to look like. The center piece of it is going to be our modulite box. This is a module that's going to hooked directly in to our battery. This is going to prevent from any overloading for our vehicle. It plugs right in to the wiring harness. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today, on this 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, we are going to install part number 118572 from Tow Ready. The first thing were going to do is go ahead and get in the trunk and get access to our tail lights. Our wire is going to be located back here but we have to loosen up all these panels to get access to them. First off, well go and take away our floor coverings. Next, well go ahead and remove our threshold. Well pull our sill back and using basically a plastic pry bar, well go ahead and pop the fasteners loose underneath. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Volkwagen Jetta- Video
Today in our 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, well be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Connector, part number 118531. To begin our install, well first go ahead and open up the trunk, then well remove the spare tire cover. Well remove the two fasteners securing the rear threshold. With the plastic caps removed, we can then pull out and up on the rear threshold, and well release the fasteners underneath having it set aside. Next, well need to remove the four fasteners on each side to remove the rear carpeting. Once we removed the fasteners, we can then pull out on the carpeting and gain access to the taillight wiring behind it.Behind each taillight assembly will be the wiring. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Volkwagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2006 Volkswagen Jetta we'll be installing the T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat connector, part number 118531. To begin our install we'll first open up the rear trunk. Then we'll remove the spare tire cover and next the rear threshold. To remove the threshold we'll need to remove the two plastic cap nuts. Then we'll gently pull out and up on the threshold releasing the fasteners underneath and we'll sit it aside for re-installation later. Next, we'll need to gain access behind the tail light assembly to the manufacturers wiring. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Volkwagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, we'll be installing the tow-ready T One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole connector, part number 118531. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and open up the rear cargo door. Then we'll remove the spare tire cover and rear threshold. On this application, the rear threshold is missing some of the fasteners to secure it, so we can just go ahead and pull up on it, releasing the fasteners from underneath. Then we'll set aside and move to the rear quarter panels, where we'll need to remove the rear carpeting to gain access to the rear taillight wiring. By opening the access door, we can see that the wiring is behind the taillight, so now we'll go ahead and remove the fasteners. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, we're going to install part number 118531 from Tow Ready. The first step is to go ahead and remove the floor coverings. We'll also remove the threshold at the back. Next, we'll loosen these attachment points to get to the tail lights on both sides. Now, we can install the wire harness. On the driver's side, we'll install the T-connector in with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and we can go ahead and lock it into place. more
