T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Tekonsha T-One four-pole trailer wiring harness on a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Adding a four-pole trailer wiring harness is a great option or addition to adding a hitch on your vehicle, and that way if, for whatever reason, you may have to pull a trailer, you'll at least have the wiring ready for that situation. If you're planning on pulling a trailer, you're gonna wanna pick this up regardless. It's a nice easy installation because it ties in directly to your factory taillight plugs using OEM style and the great part too, this is module protected, as well as inline fuse protected. So you don't ever have to worry about any back feed or any electrical mishaps frying your factory electronics. It's very simple. more

Today on our 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness, but before we get into that, let's take a minute, check it out and make sure it's gonna work for ya. If you plan on pulling a trailer around with your Jeep, you're gonna need a way to illuminate all the lights on your trailer, that way you're not only safe, but legal as well and that's where a trailer wiring kit like this one is going to come into play. Not to mention too, these Jeeps are getting super popular, people doing a lot of stuff with them, using a lot of accessories, something like those accessories will light up and chances are really good a connector like this will power those up as well. With that said, this is going to provide us with our brake lights, our taillights, as well as our turn signals, so we'll have all of our bases covered there. Adding a four-pole wiring harness to your Jeep Wrangler is going to allow you to tow a trailer safely. This is going to transfer the lighting signals from our Jeep to our trailer so that we're safely signaling people on the highway or other roads while we're driving. It is module-protected, so it's going to protect any back feed from the trailer lights to your vehicle lights so that you know your vehicle lights are gonna be safe. Hi there Jeep owners. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's four-pole flat trailer connector vehicle wiring harness on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. And this is what our connector looks like when it's installed. You are gonna get a four-pole flat trailer connector with all the necessary lighting outputs which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, which will keep you DOD compliant in all States and ensure all drivers know your intentions when you're going down the road. One of my favorite parts about this harness is that it is a custom fit harness that includes its own module. What that means is that we've got connectors that'll plug in line between both the driver and passenger side taillight assemblies, and the module that's included with the harness will monitor all the signals that we're sending to the factory taillight assemblies. more

Our CURT T-connector vehicle wiring harness is going to be an excellent option for our Jeep here. It's going to provide us with a 4-pole trailer connector. It's going to allow us to pull some of our smaller, even our medium duty trailers, or if we have a cargo carrier with lighting functions, it's going to work for that as well.So the 4-pole trailer connector, as the name states, we're going to have four pins here, if you will. Now, these four pins are going to allow us for our most basic trailer lighting functions, such as the brown wire, which is for our running lights. more

We're going to be taking a look at the best trailer wiring harness here for our 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.So for our Jeep Wrangler here, we have two options. So you could see here, we have our Tekonsha T-1 vehicle wiring harness, and over here we have our Curt-T connector vehicle wiring harness and they do look very similar, but let's go ahead and go over the differences as well.So as you can see, our wiring harnesses here are both very, very similar. There's very little differences. However, I have pointed out a few things during the installation of each product that lead me to believe one is better than the other.I'm going to be going with the Tekonsha T-1 vehicle wiring harness here, and the reason for that is as follows: No. 1, We take a look here, our converter boxes, it's going to be a much lower profile, a much smaller footprint, if you will, with our Tekonsha option when we compare it to our Curt option.Now, this isn't going to be a huge deal for our Jeep here because we have a good amount of space behind the taillights, but it's definitely something to keep in mind when we're trying to find a spot to mount either one.So another thing I like to point out here is that our dust cap is actually molded to the trailer connector with our Tekonsha option here whereas it's separate here for our Curt harness.Now, it can be pretty easy to lose these things and it's just a much more seamless design and look, which is why I prefer the Tekonsha T-1.And, furthermore, our Tekonsha wiring harness actually has a higher amp drawl rating than our Curt-T connector harness. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today are you taking a look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat trailer connector on our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Our wiring's going to give us a four pole connector to have all the required lights to get down the road legally and safely. It's going to give us our tail lights, our stop lights, and our turn signals. So whenever we're towing a trailer down the road, we can rest assured that everyone around us is going to know what's going on and we can prevent getting hit behind us because our trailers will have lights and it'll be legal.I do want to mention we have ours mounted on a four pole bracket, also using a short bracket. Those are not going to come with the kit, but I do always recommend mounting your wiring at the back of your hitch so it's really secure. And it's just an easy way to access it whenever we want to tow.Our wiring is going to be an extremely simple installation, we're not going to have to cut or splice into our factory wires. more

Today on 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118416. This is what it looks like when it's installed. You're going to have an attached dust cap, and the extra wiring, again just put the extra back in the back of the hitch with a zip tie. If I need more for some reason I can always pull it off and zip tie what I don't need. Now with this dust cap being attached it also doubles as the hanger, so your wiring harness doesn't touch the ground. Now what we're going to do is we're going to remove these screws, and that's what we wanted access to. more

Today on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be a taking a look at and showing you how to install the Kirk T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four Pull Flat Trailer Connectors, part number C55124. This what our wiring harness looks like when it's installed. You see the dust cap is attached. Any extra wiring that I had, I just zip tied up to the back so if it needs to extended for any reason, you just cut the zip tie off, take it out to the length that you want, zip tie the rest of it up. When it's not in use, the cap doubles as a hanger so your cord doesn't drag the ground. This is what you're going to get in your kit. You're going to get your connector that's going to connect right into your driver's side tail light. Wiring that comes from the front, your four pull flat, your dust cap, you're going to get a self typing screw, and you're going to get some zip ties. What we're going to do is we're going to remove these screws, and that's what we wanted access to. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Here we have the Curt, and that's going to be part number C55124, and over here we have the Tekonsha which is going to be part number 118416. Here's what our wiring harness is going to look like after we install it. It's going to give us a 4-pole flat, and it's going to live on the outside of our vehicle. That way it's going to be ready whenever we're ready to tow. Now let's take a closer look at our options. Both of our kits are going to provide us with all the required lighting to get us safely down the road with our trailer. The differences between the two is very minimal, so I think either kit's going to be a great choice. Now these kits are a little bit different than most other kits, we're only going to be using one connector at the back of our driver's side taillight. Now the way our harnesses are going to connect, they're going to use a T-connector that's going to plug into the back of our taillight, and we're going to have a ground that we're going to need to hook up on both kits. Now both of our kits are going to give us roughly about five feet of wire from our 4-pole to go from our driver's side taillight, all the way routing it down to our hitch. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 118416- Video
Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118416. It's going to give us a 4-pole trailer flat end and it is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times. Now this is going to allow us to tow our trailer and safely have all the lights that are required by law, having our turn signals, clearance lights and brake lights. It comes with an included dust cap cover, which you can use to attach to your hitch so it's ready whenever you're ready to tow. Now let's show you how we get it installed. To begin our installation, we're going to come to our driver's side taillight and the two inner Phillips screws, we're going to be removing those. Now once we have those removed, we can pull our taillight out. Now if we come to the back of our connector here, we're going to see a small tab. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we'll be taking a look at and installing the Curt-T connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C55124. First thing we're going to do on our installation of our wiring harness is go ahead and remove the driver's side rear taillight assembly. To do so there's going to be two Phillip's screws here on the inside that we're going to remove. You can leave the outward ones installed, since those are securing the cover to the light assembly here. Once you have those two removed we'll be able to pop the taillight assembly right out, just like so. Then we'll disconnect the wiring harness, press down on the tab on the bottom and pull out. Once we have it disconnected we'll go ahead and set the taillight off to the side, and bring in our wiring harness. We're going to simply plug in the same kind of connector to our factory harness. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to review and install the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Trailer Connector, part number 118416. Now here's what our 4-flat trailer connector's going to look like once it's installed. To use it, we'll simply remove the cap, and take it out of the chain hold down. We can then plug it into our trailer. The 4 flat connectors can provide ground, running, turn, and brake signals. The yellow is for the driver's side, and the green is for the passenger's side. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118416. Now to begin our install we're going to start here at the rear of the vehicle, removing the driver's taillight assembly. We'll remove the two inside screws that hold the assembly in place. Once we have the fasteners out we can go ahead and pop the taillight assembly, exposing the manufacturer's wiring underneath. Next I'm going to go ahead and remove the taillight assembly completely by pressing on the locking tab and separating the two connectors. We can take the taillight assembly and set it aside for reinstallation later. Next we're going to bring in our new wiring harness. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited C55124- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we will be installing Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, Part No. C55124. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and remove the tail light assembly for the driver side. To remove the tail light assembly, there are two inside screw fasteners that'll need to be removed. Once we've removed these fasteners, we can go ahead and gently pop the tail light assembly out of its position and remove it completely by pressing on the wiring connector lock and removing the wiring harness from the connector. We'll go ahead and set the tail light assembly aside. Next, we'll take the 4-pole connector, drop it down to where we can pull our 4-pole connector out from underneath the vehicle. Next, we'll take the white wire with the pre-test 00:00:45 ring terminal on our wiring harness which will be the ground wire for our new 4-pole connector and secure it directly to the frame or body of the vehicle, using a self-tapping screw. It's a great location where the sheet metal doubles up for a secured round. We can now go ahead and take the T-connector and plug it into the manufacturer's wiring. One side into the manufacturer's wire, the other side into the tail light assembly. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited well be installing Tow Ready T-1 connector, part number 118416. To begin our install well need to remove the drivers side taillight assembly. Well remove the two inside screws and then pop the taillight assembly out of its position. Here we can gain access to the manufacturers wiring and well disconnect the taillight assembly from the wiring by pressing on the locking tab and pulling the connectors apart. Next, well set the taillight assembly aside and take our Tow Ready Harness and feed it down through the opening and then underneath the foam cover at the bottom of the drivers side quarter panel. This will feed our four pole underneath the vehicle. more
