Pewag All Square Tire Chains Installation - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Pewag Mud Service All-Square snow tire chains here on our 2021 Toyota 4-Runner. Now these are gonna be a ladder pattern style chain, which means these links are going to run perpendicular to the tire, like the shape of a ladder. It's gonna give us really good traction for our starts and stops and with a nice square shaped link, we're gonna get a lot of bite in those links, as opposed to something like a twist link, or even a cable that would be much more mild, better for on-road use and just light duty applications, but they don't give you the same level of traction that something like this might have. You are gonna have a nickel-manganese alloy steel construction, so these will be holding up to those elements pretty well over time and help them last for a long time. On the front, we have this lever arm that feeds through the links, pulls back, and applies some tension to the chain, but we don't have any sort of included cam tighteners like some other chains might and like other options from Pewag have. So we have our rubber tensioner on here to get the chain really form fit to the tire, keep it on there nice and snug. more

Now, the big standout thing with these, is the self tensioning feature here. You've got a nice elastic band here that's pulling on this tensioner keeping the chains nice and tight around the tire. With that built in, it's really nice, really convenient and it's gonna make sure that these chains fit your tire really well. Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden, here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at our Konig XB-16 snow tire chains here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. So, taking a look at the chain, we can see it's a diamond pattern as opposed to a ladder pattern style chain. That means it's gonna give us a somewhat smoother ride quality and be a little less bumpy. On the links themselves, we've got a dual sided D-link which as compared to something like a twist link is gonna give us a little bit more bite into that snow and ice, but not quite as much as something really aggressive, like a V-Bar style. Konig Diamond Pattern Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2022 Toyota Tundra- Video
Today, we have a 2022 Toyota Tundra, and we're gonna be taking a look at the Konig XD16 Snow Tire Chains. These are gonna be a little bit different than your standard ladder pattern style chains, and what makes it different is we don't just have cross chains going across, we have a little diamond pattern right here. We also have cross chains right here, which is gonna help us if we do put them on the front or the rear, but we do wanna make sure to check our owner's manual and make sure that we're putting them on the correct wheels. Right here we're on the back, but these are gonna have smaller link sizes, so it is gonna give us a little bit smoother ride, especially compared to the ladder pattern styles. Half the time we're hitting tire, then chain, then tire, then chain. Right here, if you noticed, we just have a lot of chain on our tire, so we're not gonna be feeling those bumps near as much compared to the ladder pattern style. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Titan Snow Tire Chains on the 2021 Ram 2500. These are your lighter style tire chains, and while they're not gonna be as smooth as your diamond pattern style, these are gonna give you a lot more effective starts and stops, especially the V-bars on the links themselves are just gonna cut through that deep snow and thick ice, giving you that extra traction that you need. The built in cam tighteners make it very quick and simple to secure the chains onto your vehicle. And they are made out of a low-carbon steel, so they are very strong and durable. You definitely wanna make sure that you're not making pavement or you're not making contact on the pavement with these chains as they are gonna wear down on the V-bars, so these are great, if you live in an area where there is a lot of fixed snow and ice. To install our chains, we are gonna lay them out flat, making sure there are no kinks in our links and notice since these are the V-bars, we want them sticking up and not on the inside of our tire, as well as these hooks right here, we want them on the outside of our tire as well. more

pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains Review- Video
Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the pewag All Square 5.6 millimeter Snow Tire Chains. These are gonna be a ladder pattern style chain, so they're gonna be a little more rough of a ride than the diagonal or diamond pattern chains, but that's not a huge deal, these aren't gonna be the roughest ride of all of them though, there are some all square snow tire chains that are a little bit bigger, these are 5.6 millimeters linked thick, so these are relatively larger, but not as big as they can go, so they're gonna get you a decent amount of traction, and these are gonna be less traction than some of the V-bar style chains. These do have a little bit stronger steel material, it's manganese nickel alloy, some of them are low carbon steel, so these are definitely winning when it comes to how hard and how strong they are, so they should last a long time. And one thing I like about it is just the cam tensioners, they really do help get a really nice fit on the chain, so that is something to kinda think about, just because as treads start to kinda go down, sometimes the diameter of your tire changes ever so slightly, so with the cam tensioners, you can be confident that they're as tight as they can be, so they're not gonna fall off or anything and damage the vehicle. These won't damage your wheels, so notice how we have a very large amount of gap between the chain and our rims, so even if we we're in very, very thick, heavy snow where it's pushing in on the side walls, it's not gonna go and scratch our wheels, that's something I look at, just because these are nice and I wanna keep them nice, so you don't have to worry about that with these. If you wanna put these on just the back wheels of whatever vehicle you may have, you can do that, it does come in a pack of two, but if you do wanna put it on the front wheel as well, you're gonna have to grab two of these. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the pewag Servo RS Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains on the 2021 Kia Forte. This is gonna be your diamond pattern style tire chain, and it's gonna give you that really smooth ride and that awesome traction. As compared to your ladder style tire chain, that's gonna be a lot more bumpy, you're gonna have your dips in your valleys, 'cause it's gonna be chain, tire, chain, tire, but with a diamond pattern, you have a lot more coverage, and it's mostly just the chain on the snow or ice. The square links add that extra traction and to break through the ice, especially compared to the roller style, those are gonna give you a smoother ride, but these are just solid and it's gonna give you that extra traction. So some of the things I like about these pewags is the coating on the chains right here towards the rim, just extra protection against your rim right there, and I do like the simple installation, I wouldn't mind doing this outside in the weather as opposed to your ladder style chains where you'd have to go on your stomach or your back and reach around there. Very quick and simple to install, and I like the self-tensioning mechanism right here, you don't have to purchase a separate self-tensioner, it's just all included in the package here, as well as some more added protection for your rim with these covers right here. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Konig CB12 Snow Tire Chains on the 2021 Kia Forte. This is your diamond pattern style snow chain, and while it is going to give you a much smoother ride than your ladder style, it's also gonna give you a lot better traction, because with your ladder style, it's chain, tire, chain, so there's gonna be a bump, a hill in a valley, but with your diamond style, you're just gonna have constant traction with the chains. It is a D-link shape, so it's gonna be really good at breaking through that ice, as well as it being made out of a nickel manganese alloy steel, it's gonna make it nice and durable as well as corrosion resistant. Another thing that I like about these Konigs are that they have highlighted red touch points, so when you're outside and everything's gray and snowy and wet, you know exactly what you need to be able to secure your entire chain. And they do have a coating on the chains that are nearest to your rim to provide extra protection, but it's doing a really good job actually at maintaining its clearance right here. So with my Kia here being a nice compact sedan, there's gonna be limited spacing between our wheel and the strut here, so with these Konigs being Class S compatible, it has a nice low profile, that is a great solution for our Kia here. more

This is your ladder pattern style snow chain, and while it's not going to provide it as smooth of a ride as your diamond pattern style, this is going to assist you with very effective start and stops, as well as the twist links on this style of snow chain is going to give you excellent traction in deep snow and in mud, and it is made out of a low carbon steel that is gonna be very durable and corrosion resistant, it's gonna last you a long time. Really, the only thing I don't like about this is that I have to get on the ground and reach behind the wheel to connect it. If you want something a little bit more easier and with a smoother ride, check out the Konig Snow Tire Chains, but other than that, these are affordable and very durable. To install these snow tire chains, we want to make sure that we are free of any tangles or kinks by laying it out flat, and you wanna make sure that the smooth side is the one that is gonna go on the actual tire. You can see that that's the rough side, this is the smooth side, and I have this lever right here, so we can just drape this over, and the lever will be sticking out where we need it. more

Today we're gonna be putting the pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tensioners on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. These chains are probably gonna give you the best traction compared to any of the other options on your site besides the V-bar. The V-bar snow tire chains are gonna be the most aggressive, but I think this is probably the better option, especially if you're the person who puts them on before you go out, because the V-bars are really gonna tear up your concrete a little bit, so be mindful of that. Or if half the time when you put them on, it's not a whole lot of snow, you might wanna go with these so you're not tearing up the road, But these are pretty big, seven millimeter links. So these are pretty big compared to all the other ones that you have on the site. And they do fit pretty well. more

So this is gonna be a little bit more rougher of a ride compared to the diamond pattern chains. Just because sometimes we're gonna go from tire to chain from tire to chain. But that's not a huge issue because there is gonna be snow on the ground as well. So there's another option that's a twist link just like this and then the same size, but these are gonna have the B-bars on them. more
