Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Hitch Bike Rack, how it fits on our 2023 Subaru Outback wagon. The NV is a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds a piece. It's going to hold onto our bike primarily with this front wheel hook here as well as one additional strap down at the bottom. So you can get some heavier bikes on here, but say you wanna mix and match maybe a carbon frame bike or you have an alternative frame style bike with a really aggressive design, you can accommodate those two without taking damage to the frame, because we don't make any contact with the frame. One of the nice benefits of this rack is that it does have the ability for it to tilt away with the bikes loaded up, so we'll show you that early on. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport. This is gonna be a hanging style bike rack capable of supporting four bikes up to 35 pounds each. It's going to hold onto our bike primarily by the top tube here. It's just gonna sit in these cradles and there's gonna be one anti-sway cradle that's gonna hold onto the down tube of a bike to cut down on some of that swaying movement. With a hanging style bike rack it's almost impossible to get rid of that entirely so there's gonna be a little bit no matter what you do. more

Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Lincoln Navigator- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at how the Saris SuperClamp EX 2-Bike Platform Rack fits on the 2022 Lincoln Navigator. The SuperClamp is a popular bike rack, because it has a great weight capacity, it's relatively lightweight, it has a cable lock, and it tilts away, so it has pretty much all those premium features, but there are some downsides too, especially with the Navigator like how high the hitch is, so let's talk about that. Starting with the tilt away, you have this large lever which you pull, and then you can drop this down to a tilt. If you have your 60 pound bikes up there, that might be a little tricky, 'cause that can get pretty heavy, but it's nice to know that you can tilt this whole rack away with the bikes on and you still have clearance with your very large hatch door. If you have your waters in here, your helmets, or your backpacks, this makes a lot more convenient, you can also just hang out and switch out your shoes while your bikes are on the rack, and then when you're done, you just close the door, you can see that clearance again right there. And I recommend holding onto the rack to support it as you lift up, it snaps into place, and you're ready to drive. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2021 Mazda CX-5. It is a 2-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds each. It's going to hold onto our bikes using this dual wheel mount design, one hoop on either side on either tire, so there's no frame contact in the event that you wanna mix and match this with carbon frame bikes or you have an alternative frame bike with a really aggressive style, maybe just have a nice paint job that you don't want being damaged, this is a great way to get them where they need to go. Let's check out how it works. One really nice feature that I like about this rack is that to tilt it down, which we can do with the bike loaded up, we just have to reach this handle right here at the front, super close and really easy to do, so even if I had another bike loaded up in the front, I could, and there's a little bit of resistance on the way down, so it's not just gonna drop on me all of a sudden. more

This is a two bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 70 pounds and it's gonna hold onto our bikes primarily with these clamps, frame, as well as three additional straps down at the bottom. Because this rack does have that 70 pound weight capacity, typically you're gonna use this for heavier bikes and most often e-bikes, but if you do want to maybe get one of your carbon frame bikes on here as well, we wouldn't recommend it just because it does make that frame contact with this clamp, it could potentially damage your frame while you're driving. But one of the nicer features at this rack offers is the fact that it tilts and it tilts really aggressively, almost 90 degrees. So to tilt it away, we'll start by loosening up this gray hand knob down here until it gets to the point where you can push it down just like that. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Lincoln Navigator- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at how the Saris Freedom 2-Bike platform Rack fits on the 2022 Lincoln Navigator. The Saris Freedom is good if you want a lightweight bike rack that also has a heavy weight capacity. There are some downsides to this like it's limited when it comes to tire size as well as what types of bikes you can fit on this, so we'll focus on that as well as how well it fits on the Navigator. If you need to open up your hatch, you are gonna have to take the bike off, because this rack does not tilt away, that's how it gets that heavy weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike. Now, the way this holds down the bike though is you do have three touch points, one and two are going to be your wheel straps. The maximum tire width you can carry with this is gonna be up to 2.25 inch wide tires, so it's kinda limited. more

Now it's not gonna make any frame contact so if we don't want to damage our carbon frame bikes we don't have to. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Kia Telluride- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Rack, sits in the hitch of our 2023 Kia Telluride. It's a four-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting four bikes up to 35 pounds each. It's going to hold onto our bikes primarily with these rotating padded clamps on our center mast, as well as two additional straps down at the bottom. If we take a closer look at what those cradles look like, they do slide up and down the mast and they rotate. They're also padded on the strap and on the inside to protect the frames a little bit, but we still don't recommend using this rack with carbon frame bikes. more

It's gonna be able to support up to 35 pounds per bike and it's going to hold onto a bike primarily with these rotating paddock clamps right here on our center mass. Take a look at this one. You see they do slide up and down and they do rotate to accommodate different shapes but they do make contact with our frame ultimately. So if we do want to use this with carbon frame bikes we definitely recommend against it 'cause it could potentially damage that while you're driving. more

Sport Rider SE is a two-bike platform-style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 80 pounds each, held primarily by these frame hook and two additional straps down at the bottom so it does make contact with the frame. We don't recommend using it with the carbon frame bikes. It should work for the most alternative frame bikes 'cause it moves up and down that center mast, but it could damage carbon frames or your paint while you're driving, so that's something you want to consider. One thing that is nice about this rack is that it does have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded, but there are a couple things we need to undo first. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at how the Saris SuperClamp EX Two Bike by Platform Rack fits on our 2019 Toyota Highlander. So this bike rack is really good if you want something that has a lot of features without having to spend a lot. You have a good weight capacity for heavy electric bikes, it tilts away. And if you have fenders, this will work with that. It has some downsides too, though, like it takes a lot of extra time to put your bike on and off of this rack. So we'll talk about that. more

So if you're familiar with the Swagman XC2 that's really popular because it's affordable, it's lightweight, it's compact. This takes those features, but it now adds the tilt to it. So there's pros and cons to it. The main pro is its affordability. Now the downside is you're gonna have to go through a little bit of extra work to get your bike on there and it can't carry every single bike. more
