Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Nissan Frontier, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56225. This wiring is going to give us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order of us to safely and legally tow a trailer.We're gonna have our left turn signal, our right turn signal, our break lights, and our tail lights, plus our running lights. One great thing about this wiring harness is it does have a dust cover that's included, so when it's not in use, you don't have to worry about the elements or corrosion damaging your connector. Another good thing about this working harness is that it's plug and play to your vehicle's existing tow package wiring, so there is no cutting or modification required to your vehicle. It's a simple plug and go operation.Here's a tech tip that I have. If you put a little bit of the dielectric grease inside your connector, which we have available on our website and then seal the dust cover up over it, that will help better protect it from the elements, making sure you have a proper electrical connection every time you hook up to your trailer.Now that we've gone over some features, we're gonna show you how to get it installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Nissan Frontier, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a Four-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118525.Here's what the wiring looks like installed. This wiring harness is going to give us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. We're going to have our tail lights, our running lights, our turning signals, and our brake lights, and on each one of those circuits we're going to have a total power output of 7.5 amps, which is more than sufficient to tow a trailer with about three or four incandescent light bulbs per our turn signals or our brake lights.If we're running LED lights, we'll be basically able to run about as much LED lights as we want because they do draw significantly less power than incandescent lights. One nice feature about our wiring harness is we have a built-in dust cover to help better protect it from the elements when it's not in use.Now, one thing that I like to do is to take a little bit of dielectric grease, which we have available on our website, and put it inside of our connector. This will help better protect it from any moisture, which could potentially cause corrosion over time, and be fully protected. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. This gives us a 7-way connector, which will allow us to be able to tow a camper, pop-up trailer, or a multitude of other trailers. This connector, inside you find seven terminals. You'll have your ground, both your left and your right turn signals, a 12-volt charge line, your backup signal, and additionally, you will also have electric trailer brake output if you have a brake controller inside your Frontier to run electric trailer brakes. Additionally, we also will have our tail light and running light signal.Now, this 7-way wiring harness gives us all those functions, so we'll be able to tow basically any trailer out there, regardless of the style of electrical connector it has because you can get a 7-way adapter, which will adapt down to a 5-way flat, a 4-pole flat, 6-way round. more

Best 2017 Nissan Frontier Trailer Wiring Options- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2017 Nissan Frontier. Here we're going to have the Tekonsha, which is going to give us a seven-pole at the end of our vehicle. Here we're going to have the CURT, which is also going to give us a seven-pole. Then here we have the Tekonsha, which is going to give us a four-pole. Finally, the CURT that's going to be give us a four-pole flat. Now the main difference between all of our wiring kits is going to be the end connector. Now both of our kits here, the CURT and the Tekonsha, are both going to give us a seven-pole flat and not only give us our required lights, but they're also going to give us control of our brakes and a 12-volt power source coming out. Our Tekonsha and our CURT that are going to give us a four-pole flat will give us all of our required lights, such as our taillights, brakes, and turn signals, but we're not going to have any control over our brakes. Now these aren't the only kits available for your Frontier, but what's going to set these apart from all the other ones is that they do come with the required relays so that the connector at the end of your vehicle will light up the lights on your trailer. If you're towing a small trailer where you only need the lights and you don't need a brake controller activator or anything like that, I think the CURT and the Tekonsha four-pole connectors would be a good option because, if we're not using a brake controller, this is still going to have all the required functions to get our lights working. On the other hand, if you are towing a heavy trailer where you do have a brake controller hooked up, or if you need your reverse lights or anything like that, I think the seven-way is going to be the way to go because you are going to have those extra functions as well as more amperage coming out. The way our harness is going to install for each one of these is going to be relatively the same. more
