Curt Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Chrysler Town and Country

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Chrysler Town and Country, we're gonna be installing Curtz' T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Part number C56331. This 4 pole flat trailer connector's gonna provide you with all of the necessary lighting. This includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamp and brake lamps. So you'll be DOT compliant in all states. This harness has it's own separate control module that's going to tap into your existing rear tail lamps to get the signals, and it'll provide those signals from the module to your connector. What's nice about this is that that module has its own fuse-protected circuit, so if there's any faults on your trailer such as a short, it'll only affect the circuit going to your module, and not anything on your vehicle. It also has an included dust cap. more

First off, what color are the lower components and the ends The T-connector with the yellow wire here, goes to a connection point that's located behind driver side tail light. The T-connector with the green wire, goes over to the same connection over on the passenger side. We have a white wire with a ring terminal. That goes through sheet metal for ground. Now this black wire here, gets connected to a 12 volt power supply, so it powers our module which copies a signal that comes from our other 2 connection points. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Chrysler Town and Country C56150

Today on our 2014 Chrysler Town and Country, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56150. To begin our install, first we'll open up the rear hatch and locate the fasteners that secure the rear taillight assemblies. We'll remove the fasteners and then remove the taillights. To remove the taillights, we'll simply pull them out towards the rear of the vehicle, releasing the fastener alignment pins underneath. Then to remove the taillight assembly, push up on the read locking tab to release it then press on the connector lock that remove the wiring harness from the socket. We'll set the taillight aside, move over the passenger side and repeat the same process. Now with both taillight assemblies removed, we'll go and take the new wiring harness and the yellow and brown wire connector, plug it in to the manufacturer's wiring on the driver's side. Next we'll take the 4-pole connector and green wire connector and feed it down between the bumper cover and via the vehicle. This will come out down underneath the vehicle where we can then go ahead route the green wire connector over to the passenger side and the 4-pole connector towards the center of the vehicle and ultimately to the hitch. more
