Now this is a hang style bike rack that will hold up to four bikes. One thing to look at is the quick tilt feature that it does have. It's just a quick two-step process. But before we get to that, why don't we take a look at some of the anti-sway cradle options that they have provide in this rack One thing to look at is the spacing in between each cradle here. If you're looking for a bike rack to install that's going to be easy and lightweight, maybe something that you can do by yourself, this would probably be one of the better options. Taking a look at the simplicity of this design as well, there's only three contact points to hold your bike secure. With that being said, having this 360 movable frame mount point you'll have different options for different style of bikes. Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com and today, we are looking at our Hollywood Racks Destination Four-Bike Platform style rack here on our 2020 Mazda CX5. So this is a great bike rack if you're looking for something that is lightweight and easy to install. It's a good entry level four bike platform rack, so you can still carry all your bikes without having to pay too much. The way our bike is mounted to this bike rack is by one, two wheel straps and this frame mount over here. If you look at the frame mount, this works really well with non-traditional bike frames or traditional ones because of it's 360 rotation. To dismount the bike, you just start with these wheels strips.So I recommend holding onto the bike a little bit as you press that lever and pull up on the strap. more

So this is a four bike hanging style rack, it's a nice quality bike rack especially since it's at an entry level price, but one thing that makes it extra special is its popularity. There's a lot of people who've tried this bike rack. It's tried, tested and true.So, the way our bike is mounted to this bike rack here is by three mounting points, so we have one, two and three. So this third one down here is the hold fast anti-sway cradle, which is something that Thule is very proud of having at this price point. This is a great option, especially if you have a heavy e-bike, because it has an 80 pound weight capacity, which is a lot.So the first thing I want to show you is how it tilts away with the bike on it. To do so you need to take out this pin and clip here. So with that clip out of the way, you just need to pull that pin out. Now it is a tight fit, so you might need to lift the rack up a little bit while you pull that pin out. And with that out of the way, you then pull on this top lever. more

Now let's take a closer look at the bike rack, and show off some of the features with the bike installed.On the ends, we do have these two bottle openers that Yakima puts on all of their products. Up here we have two different, or actually three different points, where our bike is secured. We have two on top, with the Zip Strips that secures the top frame of our bike onto these cradles. These cradles do have rubber TPE padding. Part number SA4025F.Now, let's take a closer look at some of the features with the bike installed. For starters, this platform rack can tilt away from the vehicle to give you access to your trunk. We're just going to pull on this handle right here and it can tilt away like so. Now we can come up and open up our rear hatch and it doesn't even come close to making contact with our bike. We can slide in and get whatever gear we might need out of our trunk and then we're ready to hit the trails.When you have it closed and you're ready to tilt it back up, just grab ahold of these arms right here and push up till you hear that audible latch.Now, our bike has four different points where it's secured to the bike rack. more

And as you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a look and show off some of the features. Now, if we start out here, we're going to see we have this integrated cable lock system that comes up from the base of our bike rack, wraps around the frames of our bikes, and simply is inserted into that little notch right there. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack. In order to unlock the cable, you would simply slide up this tab right here, insert your key in, unlock your cable, and then you can unload your bikes.These cradles can move side to side, and up and down the bike rack, for any type of spacing needs you might want for your bike rack or any size bike you might have. more

Today on our 2016 Mazda CX5 we're going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro Folding Bike Rack, part number TH934XTR. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The cradles themselves are adjustable along the arms, this is to accommodate loading. It also has these grooves inside the cradles, so one you install your bike the break cables and such can actually sit in these areas here so it doesn't get smashed up against the frame. It grips your bike at three points, we're going to have two straps up at the top and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, and possibly making contact with the others. Today on our 2016 Mazda CX5 we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SR26248. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with all bikes attached, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. What you do is you come onto the passenger side here where there's this black handle. You pull out and let it tilt away like so. Now we have full access to our rear hatch and plenty of space on either side to get what we need. more

Today on our 2016 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack. The first feature I like to show off is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached to it so you can gain rear hatch access. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2013 Mazda CX5, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 bike rack, part number S-64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact, and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top, so we don't have to worry about any scratching of the bike once it gets installed. We also have these adjustable wheel creels at the base here, you just loosen them up, and you can move them along the arms to accommodate different sized bikes, and to assist with loading. It also has this nice raised shank here, so the vehicles with hitches that sit low, it's not going to have any clearance issues between the bike rack, and the ground. I'm just going to take the bike off and set it aside. more

We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here and 1 off to the side here, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it and damaging it. We also have an integrated cable lock here at the top of the mast. You pull this out, wrap it around the bikes, and you insert it into this portion here, which is lockable for additional security. Today on our 2014 Mazda CX-5, were going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram. This is a tilting 4-bike rack designed for use with inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. Its part number is SR26248. To being our test fit, well slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. Now as we do this, we want to align one of the threaded holes up with the pinhole in the side. Im going to use the first one rather than the second so we can get as much clearance as possible. more

Today on our 2014 Mazda CX-5 we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack designed for use in 2" hitches. Its part number is SA4414B. Now to begin our test fit we need to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we want to keep an eye through the hitch pinhole in the hitch to determine when we have our holes lined up. With those lined up we're going to thread in our anti-rattle bolt from the left to the right. more

Saris Axis Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2014Mazda CX5, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Axis. This is a folding and tilting, three-bike rack designed for use in both inch and a quarter and twoinch hitches. Its part number is SA843B.To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we'll want to line up our threaded hole with the pinhole on our hitch tube. We'll then take our anti-rattle bolt and thread this in from the left to the right. We'll then tighten it down with a wrench.With that anti-rattle bolt tight, we'll now take the provided lock and simply slide it on the other end. more

Swagman XTC4 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2015 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5 we'll be test fitting Swagman XTC4 Platform Style Hitch Mounted Bike Rack part number S64665. Begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. At the lining of the pin holes we'll slide in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down with a wrench and then secure it with a lock on the other side. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about ten and a half inches of ground clearance and we have a bout one and a half inch distance between the closest part of the rack to the closest part of the vehicle when the platform is pushed up as far as it can go. We've added about nine and a half inches to the overall length of our Mazda. We can now remove the silver pin and clip at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform on the rack down. more

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5 we'll be test-fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler hitch-mounted 4-bike rack, part number HR8500. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench, finishing off by securing the clip on the other side. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10 and a half inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 3 inches away and we have added about 10 inches to the overall length of our Mazda. We can now remove the black pin at the top of the mast and swing out our dual arms. more

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5, well be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero Hitch Mounted Hanging Two Bike Rack, part number TH9042. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, well allow the integrated hitch pin to fall into place and well turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. If the bike rack secured, well go over a few clearance of measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2-1/2 inches away. more

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5 we'll be test fitting the Swagman Titan Hitch Mounted Hanging 4-Bike Rack, part number S63410. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 13" of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 9" away and we have added about 22" to the overall length of our Mazda. We can lift up on the black lever at the top of the mast to swing out our cradle arms. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pinholes we'll thread in our anti rattle bolt tightening it down with the wrench and then securing it with the clip on the other side. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about eleven inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about five inches away and we've added about twelve and a half inches to the overall length of our CX5. We can now remove the black pin at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out we've added about thirty inches to the overall length of our Mazda. To access the cargo area we can remove the black pin and clip at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast down. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2015 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5, we'll be test fitting the Soft Ride Dura-Parallelogram hitch mounted hanging four bike rack part number SR26247. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes we'll thread in our anti rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench and then secure it with the lock. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about ten and a half inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about four inches away and we've added about thirty four inches to the overall length of our Mazda CX5. Cool feature of this rack is that the arms have the ability to be removed by sliding back on the black levers in the back of the mast. With the arms removed we have reduced the added length to the vehicle to about twelve inches. To load up a bike, we'll need to replace the arms. With the arms locked in place, we'll then undo the rubber cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and the secure it with the rubber straps. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2015 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2015 Mazda CX-5, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Mounted Hanging 5 Bike Rack, part number HR9200.We begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt; tighten it down using a wrench, and then secure it with a clip on the other side.With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 9 inches away, and we've added about 19 inches to the overall length of our Mazda.We can now loosen up the black knobs in the upper left and right hand corner of the mast, which allows us to pull the cradle arms out and swing them upward. With the cradle arm secured in place, we'll go ahead and get a measurement from the back of the car to the end of the arms; and we'll get a measurement of about 41 inches.To access the cargo area, we'll remove the black pin and clip at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast of the rack down. As you can see, we can easily gain access to the rear hatch.To load up a bike, we'll need to make sure that the mast of the rack is in its upright position. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2015 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow N Go hitch mounted hanging three bike rack part number HR135. This bike rack allows you to carry three bikes while towing a small boat or trailer. For today's test fit we'll be using the draw type ball mount with an extra long shank part number 80232. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll then secure it with the standard five inch hitch pin and clip. Keep in mind the ball mount, hitch ball and pin and clip are sold separately. Now you'll notice that after securing it, there is some wiggle within the hitch. Today on our 2015 Mazda CX-5, we are going to be test fitting the SportRack Super EZ. This is a platform style 2 bike rack for both 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number SR2901LR. To begin our test fit, we are going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we want to look through the hole to see when our pinholes line up. With our holes lined up, we will take our anti-rattle bolt and thread it in and then use our wrench to tighten it down. With our bolt tight, I am going to take the provided lock and put them on to secure it. With our rack in this position, we are going to have about 13-1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. more

Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2015 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2015 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima StickUp. This is a platform-style, tilting 2-bike rack with both 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number Y02420. Now to begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we'll want to keep an eye through the window there to see when our pin holes get lined up. With the holes lined up, we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt, thread it through, and then we'll tighten it down with our wrench. With that tight, we'll take the provided lock, clip it on the side here to secure it. In this position, our rack is going to offer us about 11-1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the vehicle will be here, and you can see that's about 3-1/2 inches there. Overall, we've added about 13 inches to our total length. Pulling the red knob located here on the left side will allow us to tilt the rack away from our vehicle into its platform position. more

With those lined up, we're going to thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then we'll tighten it down with our wrench. With that nice and secure, let's go over a couple measurements.
