Today on our 2010 Chrysler Town and Country, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing 4-bike carrier for 2" hitches, part number TH9027. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and allow our attached pin to fall into place. Then we'll move to the rear of the shank and use the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Next, we'll go over some clearance measurements. We have about 10-1/2" of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our vehicle is about 1/4". more

Today on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, well be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT. To being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench. With the platform folded down, we can now have access to our cargo area. To load the bike, well unfold the mast by sliding the grey lever over to the right hand side, put the frame hooks to the top of the mast and well undo the cradle straps. Well set the bike into the wheel cradles, adjust the frame hook tightly against the frame and secure it with the straps. The completes todays test fit for the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. more

Now to begin our test fit, using the included adapter for the 2 inch hitch, we'll slide up the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole, and install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. With the anti-rattle bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack is 13-3/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack, here at the wheel cradle to the back of the vehicle is 7 inches. We'll now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform, then open the cargo door. more

With the bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack measures 10-3/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack, here at the mast, to the back of the vehicle here at the mast, measures 6 inches. We'll now pull the the pin here at the bottom of the mast and tilt the mast out of the way, where we can then open our cargo door. more

Our ground clearance at the bike rack measures 11 1/2 inches. From the closest point of the bike rack with the platform in the stored position to the back of the vehicle is one inch. more

Now well go over a handful of clearance measurements so you can get an idea of how the rack is going to fit behind the vehicle. Weve got about 10 inches of ground clearance and 5 inches of clearance between the closest part of the carrier and the closest part of the vehicle. Overall weve added about 18 inches of length to the rear of our Town and Country. more

As the pin clears the hitch collar and allow it to fall into the hitch pinhole itself. With that done we can then move to the anti-rattle knob where we will tighten it down securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Now well go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is ten inches and from the closest point of bike rack, which is the anti-rattle knob to the back of the vehicle, is three inches. more

Now our vehicle's equipped with an inch and a quarter hitch, so we remove the adaptor sleeve from our bike rack shank. Please note that when using in a class one hitch, you are limited to two bikes with this bike rack. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and using the integrated locking hitch pin, we'll allow to slide into place. With it in place, we'll simply tighten down the anti-rattle knob here on the side of the shank. With that, our bike rack's secured to the vehicle and we're ready to load it up. more

Now well start off by installing the bike rack into the hitch and then well go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and then install the safety clip on the other side. Alright, at this point we can go ahead and get some clearance measurements. From the bike rack to the bumper at its closest point were looking at a distance of 6 inches. Ground clearance is going to be 8 and a half inches. more

A quick note about this bike rack, it will fit 1-1/4-inch hitches or 2-inch hitches with the provided adaptor. Our vehicle is equipped with the 1-1/4-inch hitch and our bike rack is preassembled so we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll need only to slide the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and insert our anti-rattle bolt. We'll then tighten it down using a wrench. more

Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country we will be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9029. With our vehicle already equipped with a two inch hitch and our bike rack already pre-assembled, we're ready to go ahead and fit the rack. We'll begin by sliding the shank into the hitch, line up the pin, and then install the anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt snug we'll go ahead and tighten it down using our three quarter inch wrench. Now that our bike rack is tight we're going to go ahead and give you a couple of measurements. From the bottom of the bike rack to the floor is ten and a half inches. more

Today on this 2010 Chrysler Town and Country were going to do a test fit of part number a30901 from SportRack. This is SportRacks 2 Bike Easy Hitch Mounted Rack. One quick note, this bike will work with 1-3/4 receiver hitches class one and class two, and will also work on 2 receiver hitches with the included spacer, and we will be using that today. Okay the first thing we will do is go ahead and install the bicycle rack into the hitch and then we will tighten down the anti rattle bolt and put the safety pin on the other side, and we use a 3/4 wrench to tighten it down. Okay from the closest point of the bicycle rack to the rear hatch on the van is going to be 9-1/2, and ground clearance will be 10-1/2, now we will go ahead and fold the rack and give you one more measurement at the very end of it. We will pull out two key pins, unfold it and then reinstall the pins in matching holes. more

Quick note about this bike carrier it will fit 1-1/4 receiver hitches both class 1 and class 2, and will also work with a 2 receiver hitch with included spacer, and thats what well be using today. We will go ahead and install the bike rack into the receiver hitch, tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and safety pin on the other side. And we use a wrench to tighten it down. Okay now we will give you some measurements to give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the van, and the ground. At the closest point to the bumper were looking at 4-1/2, and ground clearance will be 9-1/2. more
