Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Voyager trailer brake controller, part number 39510. The first step to installing our trailer brake controller is to find the factory wiring for our controller install. The wire will be marked with a tag to show you how to hook up the brake controller. For this install, we'll be using the plug and play harness for the installation, part number 75127. We'll wire this in according to our instructions and to the factory wiring. Your wires should be labeled to match up to the factory wires. We'll start with our ground wire, which is the white wire and we'll reference the factory wiring harness tag, which also says the white wire is the ground on this. Strip that wire back. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Today on this 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 series we will be installing Curt hitch part number 13322. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our trailer hitch is removing the spare tire and getting it out of the way. With the spare tire removed we can go ahead and take a look at the drivers side frame rail. :18 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Today we are going to install part number 13322 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. Looking at the passengers side, we are going to show you where the hitch mounts up. It is going to mount in this place right here, where the bolt is. Also, it will use this factory hole right here, and also it will use two holes in the bumper. We did a test fit on the hitch to make sure it clears the spare tire and if it does not, all you have got to do is lower the spare tire a little bit and move it out of the way. Next we will go ahead and just take off this rear bolt here - we will do one on each side - and then we can start installing the hitch. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado

Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13322 on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The first thing we want to do is to go ahead and lower our spare tire and get it out of the way so we have more room to work with. And then next I am going to go ahead and point out the attaching points for the trailer hitch. You can see here at the bottom of the bumper we have got two existing weld nuts. These are going to provide the two rearmost fasteners. At the end of the frame, you can see we have got an existing bolt. We are going to remove that and put a new fastener in its place to provide the middle attaching point. And then again, there is an existing hole here more forward on the frame, and that will provide our third attaching point. And to clean out the weld nuts, I am going to go ahead and spray them down with a spray lubricant, like a WD-40. And I am just going to take a wire brush and run that through there, and that will help to clean them out - get the corrosion and rust out of there. And once I have cleaned them out, I am going to go ahead and put the bolts in and run them in and out a few times just to further clean them. more
