Now Hitching Post Pro is a hanging style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes, each up to 35 pounds. Because it is a hanging style rack, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that will damage the frame, having it hang by the frame. And with alternative frame bikes and kids' bikes, we do probably want to pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure that it fits and hangs properly from the rack. Now the Sherpa is a platform style bike rack capable of holding up to two bikes each up to 40 pounds. You do have some color options with it. We've got the gray one here today, but you can also get it in black or pearl, so you can kind of color match it to your vehicle if that's your fancy but they're all gonna function the exact same way. It is a wheel mount style bike rack meaning primarily it's holding the bike by the front tire here, meaning zero frame contact, making it good for our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. more

So going to be a platform-style bike rack, holding the bike in these trays, and primarily by this frame cradle up here with a strap around the frame. Frame contact is gonna mean we want to avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame, but with the way these cradles do rotate 360 degrees, slide up and down, kids' bikes, alternative frame bikes those should be just fine. Now it does have a 35 pound weight capacity per bike, so just make sure you're staying within those limits. more

Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes. You can get a five bike version, and that'll have a slightly higher weight capacity of 225 as opposed to 180 pounds total. And it'll stick out a bit further, but overall they're gonna function the same. Because it's a hanging style bike rack, it's gonna hold the bike hanging by the frame here. That does mean we want to avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Buick Encore- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Swagman XC2 bike rack here on a 2021 Buick Encore. So this is what the XC2 looks like installed in the back of our Encore here. And we only got one bike attached, but it should be pretty much the same for two bikes. Now for starters, they're pretty much gonna block your backup camera. You're gonna get some slight visibility between the frame here, but that's gonna be the case for pretty much any bike rack. And then, in regards to the rear windshield here, the rear hatch glass, you're gonna be able to see most, you're gonna be able to retain most of your visibility there. more

If you're looking for the most premium bike rack in the whole entire world of bike racks, you found it. So this one's gonna really bring all those features over to the top. When it comes to just the basic features, we're gonna have the tilt away. So on our Tesla Model Y, we can still access our back, which it has a massive door. So I'm surprised that it's actually gonna work with this, but it does. more

This is going to be a really solid platform-style bike rack designed for e-bikes. Now, I say platform-style, that means it's being held in these cradles and this one is being held by the frame with this frame hook up here. The frame hook is gonna mean that we probably want to avoid carbon frame bikes 'cause that will damage the frame and alternative frame bikes are probably gonna need a bike adapter bar to make sure this hook gets a good grab and a good hold on the bike. Otherwise though, it's gonna be a really nice setup because right outta the box, it is gonna work with your e-bikes. more

Hi everyone! Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today, we're checking out the Curt Premium Bike Rack here on our 2016 Winnebago Spirit Motorhome. Now, the Curt Premium is a hanging-style bike rack, which means we've got the bike hanging by the frame. 3 points of contact are gonna be these 2 straps up top, holding it down and into these cradles, and then a third one around the seat post to limit that bike-to-bike contact by limiting that side-to-side movement. It's still obviously gonna be there, but it will limit it and help out quite a bit compared to other bike racks that don't have that third point of contact. You do have a total weight capacity of 180 pounds, and because it's hanging-style, we want to avoid our carbon frame bikes. more

So the MonoRail has pretty much everything you need, a great wheel base, a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike for heavy bikes. You can fit carbon fiber frame bikes. So pretty much if you wanna carry any type of bike and not have to worry about it, this is a good way to go. Now when it comes to choosing a bike rack for your vehicle there's definitely two options that are the main components in differentiating between the two, and one of those is our hanging style, the other one's gonna be the platform. And the hanging style has kind of been the standard for a long time, just because it's ease of use and also the ability to get multiple bikes without a huge footprint. And the platform style offers I think, a little bit more secure attachment to a bike, especially heavier bikes. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ram 1500 Classic- Video
Hi, everyone, Aiden, here with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa bike rack here on our 2022 Ram 1500 Classic. Now the Sherpa is a platform style bike rack holding the bike in these trays and primarily by the front tire here. We do have a secondary point of contact at the back but this primary method is gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes here, 'cause we're not relying on that frame contact and it does have a 40 pound weight capacity per bike. So not the best for e-bikes. If you are looking for something that can perform a bit better in that category, you can check out the RockyMounts MonoRail. more
