I like this style where we are in a tray like this holding the bike by the tires on either side. It's gonna make it really nice for our carbon frame bikes so we don't have to worry about any sort of frame damage, our alternative frame bikes and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, even good for some of our e-bikes with the batteries removed. This one especially is going to hold it really well and like many other platform racks in this style, you have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video

Hi everyone, Aiden here with each etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Bike Rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, this is a nice entry-level platform-style bike rack. It's going to hold the bike down here at each wheel with these rationing straps and with this clamp up on the center mast These two operate independently, so if you have two bikes where you have to have the clamp set at the same height, it's not gonna conflict with each other, which I really like. That's a big sticking point for some racks that have this style of attachment. They do also rotate 360 degrees to accommodate for those different style frames. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer V2 Platform Style Bike Rack here on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now, this bike rack can hold two bikes, and it's gonna hold it at the pivoting wheel cradle at the back here, and at this wheel hook on the front, which means zero frame contact. That's gonna make it good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and with a 40 pound capacity, you're not gonna want to work with any sort of e-bikes probably, so just watch out for that. Now, this does have the option to tilt away with the bikes loaded and to do that, I'm actually gonna pull this other arm up just to give me easy access to the foot pedal here. It's a really unique way of tilting down. more

I like that these two clamps operate independently of each other. So if we have to set them at the exact same height, we can because they're completely independent, they can go up, down, rotate 360 degrees and adjust to fit your bikes. more

If you are planning on taking this off road it does have an off road weight capacity of 36 pounds per bike. So just keep that in mind. more

The Yakima Hangtight is gonna be, in my opinion, the best bike rack for your 2019 Ford Transit, T-350, because we have so much room for a lot of people. We wanna be able to bring as many bikes as possible. Unless you have a truck and using a tailgate pad, there's not any other kind of options for getting six bikes to wherever you wanna go. Now, with this style of platform rack, you're gonna be holding the bike by the tires here on either end. This is really nice because it's gonna make it accept a really wide variety of bikes. We've got our mountain bike on here today and it fits perfectly fine, but any sort of alternative frame bike, where you might not be able to get a hook on the frame or anything like that, or maybe a carbon frame bike where you don't wanna damage it, it's gonna work great on this, because, again, our point of contact is the tire right here on either side. Now, in addition to that, you get these adjustment points on the wheel cradles. So you can adjust this bolt right here down to fit a smaller size wheel. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek- Video

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro on our 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. This is gonna be a great way of hauling four bikes to and from your destination as long as you have a class II hitch or above. If you have an inch and a quarter class I hitch like we have today, then we can only carry up to two bikes and it's gonna be 35 pounds per bike, just keeping that in mind. And it does have a tilt away feature which is awesome for getting stuff out of your hatch but you have to take the bikes off to do that, so I'll show you that in just a bit. Right here we have three points of contact, two over the top tube and then an anti-sway strap right here. It's just gonna reduce the amount of movement it has and it's gonna help your bikes not collide with each other as much cuz if I took it off, notice we have a lot more movement. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Toyota Prius- Video

This right here is the NO tire hold. And we're taking a look at it on our 2022 Toyota Prius. This is a pretty unique bike design when it comes to the rack. There's a couple of other ones on our website, but this is the most entry level option. I really like the dual tire hold because it doesn't have any effect on our frame. So we can use our carbon fiber frame bikes. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek- Video

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook bike rack on a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. This is gonna be a great choice for transporting your bikes of up to 45 pounds per bike. Since it is a frame mount, if you have a custom paint job or a carbon frame style bike, this might not be the one for you, but we do have a cool tilt away feature, and that's gonna allow us to keep our bike on the rack and still have access to our hatch, and when you fold it back up, you're gonna hear an audible click letting you know that it is secure. We have three attachment points, a strap for each tire, and the frame mount. To take the bike off, we're gonna start with the straps and just swing them out of the way, and then keeping one hand on the frame so it doesn't fall on your vehicle, we can then push on these buttons and swing them up, and I like to just take the hooks off 'cause it makes it easier for me to take the bike off. And I also like to lower this center mass down by lifting up on this lever. more

And since it is a frame mount, if you had a custom paint job or your carbon frame style bikes, this might not be the one for you. But it's gonna be made out of steel, so it will be very durable, last a long time. and it's finished with a black powder coat making it rust resistant. We're gonna have three points of contact, keeping the bike on the frame, and that is a strap on each wheel and then this center frame mount. more
