Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack Review- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro X Four Bike Rack. Now the Piston Pro X is going to be a really premium platform style bike rack, platform meaning the bikes sit on top of the rack here, and this is going to be really great for a wide variety of bikes, including carbon frame and alternative frame. Because it doesn't make any sort of frame contact, it uses this dual wheel mount design where these arms will ratchet over both tires, which make it very quick and easy to load and unload, again while keeping that frame safe. Now the way it does this is with the integrated piston, so those arms will open up at the press of a button. So one handed operation is very easy with this and one of the other things that sets the Pro X apart is the built-in taillights. more

Now, this is gonna be a great choice if you wanna go out riding with your family and you need to haul a lot of bikes and they're gonna be more of a standard variety. So if we take a closer look at how this sits up here, we wanna have three points of contact on our bike frame and that's gonna be the by using these little zip straps. And since we are making frame contact, we're not gonna be able to carry a lot of our alternative frame bikes and I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes. Now, that is a way to get around the alternative frame bikes and that's by using a bike adapter bar. more

Now, this is gonna be an excellent choice if you're looking for something that's gonna be able to haul a variety of different types of bikes. Now, what's gonna give it that ability to haul all those different types of bikes is we're gonna have this ratcheting hook in the front, making contact with our front tire, and this strap making contact with our rear tire. Since we're not making any touch points on our frame, we're gonna be able to haul our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Jayco Redhawk Motorhome- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Yakima OnRamp bike rack. And we're gonna take a look at how it fits on our 2020 Jayco Redhawk motor home. So the OnRamp is pretty popular with motor homes because it has an included ramp attached to the rack which is pretty impressive and it does have a heavy weight capacity except for when it is on your motor home. Since it sits further away compared to when it's on a car there's gonna be a lot more movement there. So the weight capacity is gonna go down to 40 pounds per bike. So for your lighter e-bikes this is still gonna be good, for the heavier e-bikes, just really double check that weight. more

This is the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 hitch-mounted bike rack that we've installed on our 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe. Now the Destination 4 is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, and it does have a curved platform to it, so that's gonna accept more different wheel bases on your bikes. Hey everyone, it's Yvie Angeline here at etrailer, and today we have Yakima OnRamp two-bike rack for electric bikes, and we're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2018 Newmar Ventana motor home. For your Ventana motor home, it may be a little tricky to get bike racks on here because of the clearance. So because of where our hitch receiver is and how long the bike rack is, I actually was not able to put a bike on the inside. That's more because of the handlebars, though, if you had shorter handle bars, let's say for a road bike, you would probably be okay. But here's some measurements for you so that right off of the bat you'll be able to see how much clearance you have. So what we're gonna do is, we're going to measure from our bumper to the tray, and that's gonna be 12 inches, or one foot. more

Now the first thing when carrying around bikes with your Ford Expedition is that the hitch is pretty high up, which also means that you are gonna be lifting your bikes pretty high up to get onto the bike rack. So with a Kuat NV, I would actually recommend taking a look at the sold separately add-on, which is the access ramp, and that is something you can add to this bike rack that way instead of lifting the bikes up and onto the rack, you can then just ramp them up. This does have a 60 pound weight capacity for those heavier bikes. more

So seeing how this fits on the Expedition, some of the things we will be taking a look at is how much accessibility do we have in the car One example is that this bike rack does not tilt away so if you wanted to open up your hatch you would have to take your bikes off. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota Highlander- Video
All right, Matt with etrailer, and today, we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Bike Rack on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. I think this is gonna be a good choice if you're just looking for something that's gonna be an entry level bike rack just get your bikes from point A to point B. It's gonna have the capacity to hold two bikes, 35 pounds each, so unfortunately, it won't be able to accommodate your heavier e-bikes, and it's gonna have three tie-down points, one on each tire, using a strap. And we're gonna have a clamp on the frame. So unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes, but it will be able to accommodate some other alternative frame bikes, since this kind of slides up and down and can rotate some. If you wanna get into your hatch, you're gonna have to take the bike off, since this doesn't have a tilt-away feature. more

Kuat Piston Pro 4 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today when gonna talk about the Kuat Piston Pro Bike Rack for four bikes on the 2023 Toyota Highlander I'd definitely recommend this bike rack for anyone who wants a premium bike rack, but either wants to go out with the family, make sure you can haul all four of your bikes, or if you wanna go out with friends and ride your bikes with them. What's nice about it is that it's gonna make two points of contact, one on each tire, so you're gonna be able to haul a lot of carbon frame bikes and alternative frame bikes. And for all four bikes, you can carry up to 40 pounds. Now the nice thing about this rack is it has a tilt-away feature. Now there's a couple pros and cons to it. more

Kuat NV 2-0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Now this is gonna be a solid bike rack if you're looking for something that's gonna be a little bit more versatile and something a little bit more in the premium end. What kind of makes this more versatile is that it's a platform bike rack that can hold up to two bikes, but it can hold bikes up to 60 pounds, so that's gonna be able to accommodate your e-bikes. Another thing that makes it more versatile is where it straps on, it's gonna have two tie-down points, one on the back tire with a strap, and the front one's gonna be a hook that hooks onto your tire. And what's important about that is it's gonna be able to accommodate a lot of different types of bikes, like your carbon frame bikes or a lot of alternative frame bikes. Another nice feature is it's ability to tilt away and to do that is pretty easy. more

One of the premium features is where it makes contact. It's not gonna make any frame contact and it's just gonna have a strap on one tire and a hook on the front tire. So it's gonna be able to accommodate a lot of alternative frame bikes and carbon frame bikes. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination E bike rack on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. I think this is gonna be a solid choice for the Highlander if you're look to haul any heavy E-bikes, and that's because this carrier can carry up to 70 pounds per bike holding up the two of them, and it's gonna have a lot of strap down points. It's gonna have two on the front, one on the back tire, and it's gonna have this very sturdy clamp on our frame. Now unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes because that clamp might damage the frame some. What I do like about this clamp though, is it can adjust on this center mast so it'll be able to accommodate a lot of different or alternative frames. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Yakima RidgeBack bike rack for four bikes on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Now I think this would be a great value option if you're looking for anything that's gonna be a hanging style that can carry up to four bikes. Especially if you're kind of going out with the family or you're going out with friends, it would be an easy way to kind of take all those bikes with you. Now, I wouldn't recommend taking any bikes that are carbon frame since we're gonna have three points of contact, and those contact points are gonna be on our frame. Now if you have any alternative frame bikes, I'd recommend probably getting a bike adapter bar just so you can adapt to those bikes being on there. more

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Bike Rack Review - 2018 Ford Explorer- Video
Hi Matt with etrailer. and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE bike rack on the 2018 Ford Explorer. Now this is gonna be one of our more heavy duty platform bike racks. It's gonna have the potential to hold up the two bikes up the 80 pounds per bike so that's gonna be able to accommodate your e-bikes. And what's also great about that is 80 pounds is a lot of weight, so compared to other e-bike carriers it's gonna outperform most of them. Since it is able to accommodate 80 pounds per bike, it's also gonna be a little bit more difficult to maneuver around but it's also gonna have three tie-down points, two in the tires, and then one on our main frame. more
