Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Malibu- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, we're gonna be installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 36479.This class 2 hitch is gonna be great for hauling bike racks, cargo baskets and for light towing. This is what it's gonna look like on our Malibu. As you can see here, the cross tube is nice and hidden, tucked away, so you're only gonna be able to see the receiver sticking out the end.It is a one, and a quarter inch receiver opening with a reinforced collar for extra durability. A hitch pin and clip is not included but one can be found here at etrailer.com, and it uses a 1/2 inch hitch pin. The safety chain loops are nice and wide so you'll be able to fit various size safety chains on them.It has a 300 pound tongue weight, which is the force aiming down on top of your receiver, and a 3500 pound towing capacity, which is the amount that it can haul behind it. Now you do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual to ensure you're not exceeding its weight capacities. To help you when choosing accessories, I've got some measurements for you. more
