Now it's going to be a motor home approved bike rack but at a reduced weight capacity it does take quite a bit to build a bike rack that is motor home approved because it has to withstand extra shock and vibration compared to a typical passenger vehicle. So per bike, it is going to be able to hold 40 pounds. So just keep that in mind when you are loading it up if you want something that's gonna work better for your e-bikes, maybe check out the Saris SuperClamp HD. more

Now it's going to be a platform style bike rack that is motorhome approved. That is a big deal because you wanna make sure that the bike rack is up to spec with the increased vibrations and shock that it will be experiencing at the back end of a motorhome compared to a typical passenger vehicle like your car. I will point out right away with this one that I don't think is personally the best fit for the motorhome here, just because with our mountain bike, we are getting some contact because this portion of the motorhome does kind of pop out to accommodate for this cargo area here. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Phoenix USA Cruiser Motorhome- Video

Now it takes a lot to have a bike rack be certified to use on a motor home. There's a lot more shock and vibrations back here than you would have on a normal car, so any old bike rack won't do. You have to have one that is tested and approved for motor home use, and the Curt Premium is no different. We're gonna have a four bike capacity here with a total weight capacity of 180 pounds. more

Now, it is going to get a pretty good hold on the bike here, and it's going to function much like any other wheel-mounted bike rack, but it's gonna have some really unique features along the way. Starting off, though, we are going to have the ability to tilt the rack away with the bikes loaded by coming down to this lever here, pushing that in, and lowering the bike rack down. more

One thing I will caution you against though is that if you do have an alternative frame bike with you, you will still need an adapter bar for that probably to get that right fit on your bike rack. more

One of the big questions, a lot of people ask and in regards to hitch minor bike racks is are they still gonna be able to get into the back of your SUV And with this one, the answer is, yes it does fold down out of the way. And to do that, there's a couple things we need to do. I'm not super crazy about this setup but I mean, it does work. You'll have this T knob there you loosen that up and then you pull this pin and clip out and then you can pull up on this handle and that's going to allow this to drop down. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Door County e-bike rack here on a 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is a pretty unique bike rack in the sense that it has a lift on the back. You plug it into your seven way on your 4Runner, which in this case you will need an extension for, because the included cord does not reach your plug. But you can hit the down arrow on the back of the rack, and you can see, the whole bike rack starts to lower down. This will make it a lot easier to load and unload your bikes from the rack. more

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out, the Thule Hitching Post Pro, on our 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. It's gonna be a very popular bike rack, for the hanging style, which means it's gonna hold the bike by the frame itself, so that does eliminate some bikes, that's gonna thrown up there, I wouldn't throw a carbon fiber up here, it could damage that, but for saving space on the rack itself, and making it easier to use, the hanging styles being great for four bikes. Now, they do get a little close if you have it fully loaded, and there might be some swinging back and forth, so just be careful of that, but they do have precautions built in. Let's take a closer look here. So, there's gonna be a strap, on the down tube here on the frame, that's gonna help keep that movement side to side, to a minimum when you're going on the road. more
