To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pinholes, and then throw in our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes, and tighten with a wrench.Now, well go ahead and go over a few measurements. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance, and the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about five inches. With the cradle arms folded, we've added 15 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the pin at the bottom of the mast, and tilt down our carrier.To load the bike, we'll make sure that the mast is in its upright position.
