Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class III trailer hitch receiver.One of the things I really like about this hitch is how it's going to look. Being an SUV owner myself, you really don't want that hitch to stick out like a sore thumb on the back of your Equinox, and that matte black finish is really going to help blend in and keep that hitch hidden and looking good. That matte black finish is going to be very durable and thick. That way you don't have to worry about it rusting out or getting all scratched up when you're driving over a gravel road, for example.Just to give you a quick comparison, a comparable hitch to the etrailer hitch is actually the Draw-Tite. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76028. This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. As you can see, the cross tube is completely invisible or hidden behind the bumper fascia. So it fits very nicely. The only thing you really see is our receiver tube. You can see a little bit of the cross tube here. more

Best 2011 Chevrolet Equinox Trailer Hitch Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be having a look at our best trailer hitch options. On the top we have the Draw-Tite Class 3. In the middle we have our CURT Class 3. On the bottom we have our etrailer.com Class 3. First we'll give you a brief summary. As far as weight capacity goes, we found that the Draw-Tite hitch here was the winner because it does have higher weight capacities than the other two hitches. more

Today on our 2011 Chevy Equinox, we'll be installing the Curt Hitch, part number C12291. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch such as a drawbar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 14 inches. Now, let's go ahead with the installation. more

Before we get started, we are going to show you a couple final installed dimensions which will help make choosing your hitch accessories a little easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening, to the ground is going to measure 14 inches. From the center of the pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be approximately 5 inches.
