Today we're going to be going over the best hitch options available for your 1997 Chevrolet C/K series pickup with standard or step bumper. When searching for heavy duty hitches for your vehicle these are going to be the top three that you're going to be finding here. At the top here we have our Curt class 4, part number C14081. In the center we have our Curt class 5, part number C15325. At the bottom we have our B&W class 5, part number BWHDRH25124. Each of these hitches are designed pretty much for heavy duty use and each of them have their advantages. Let's go ahead and go over some of the differences. Trailer Hitch Installation - 1997 C/K Series Pickup - Curt- Video
Today on our 1997 Chevy 1500 we'll be installing the Curt trailer hitch part number C14081. Here's what the hitch looks like installed. Here are some measurements to help you pick out accessories like ball mounts, cargo carriers and bike racks. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the bumper is three and three quarter inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 20 inches. Now I'll show you how to install the hitch. The first step to installing our hitch is removing this bolt on the passenger side and this bolt over on the driver's side. more
