Ian with etrailer here. today we're gonna be looking at our best four pole wiring options for our 2009 Toyota Sienna. Here we've got the Tekonsha and the Curt wiring harnesses, both of them serving the exact same function, almost 99% the same as far as how they operate, even dealing with single wire tail lights. If I had to pick between the two, it's about a 50-50. They absolutely work and function the same as far as ease of hookups since they are both custom wiring harnesses and offer the same protections. And you'll see here, the four pole connectors are just about the same. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Toyota Sienna- Video
Today on our 2009 Toyota Sienna, we're going to show you how to install the "CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector," part number is C55580. Here's what our wiring kit's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. Here, you can see our 4 flat trailer connector. This is what we need to get tail lights, brakes and blinker signals to either a trailer or cargo carrier or something of that nature. It uses a converter box that you can see here, which takes signal from our passenger side, from our driver side, and it converts it into a usable signal that we'll have here at the plug. The factory-style connectors simply clip directly in-line between our already existing connectors, so there's no need at all to modify the vehicle's wiring. You'll see here we've got a little ground wire, self-tapping screws provided that we can use to go through that ring terminal to get it secure or we may also have the option of simply using an existing stud underneath the vehicle. They've also provided us with some zip ties and some double-sided foam tape to help us along with our installation. more
