Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Ford Escape

Today on our 2008 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Yakima round bar roof rack system using part numbers Y00409 for the 58" crossbars, Y00610, part number Y00683, and part number Y00124. With our roof rack system assembled according to the instructions, we'll begin our test fit by opening the front doors of our Escape. We'll place our front bar onto the front part of our roof. To ensure that we have it in the correct location, we need to measure 7" from the leading edge of the windshield to the closest point on our foot pack. We'll do this measurement for both sides of the vehicle to make sure that our feet are in line with each other. Now we'll make our way from passenger side to driver side, tightening down each foot pack using the thumb screw on the inside, until we have each foot pack snug. more
