We're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2022 Honda CR-V Now, the Swagman XC 2 is actually really popular with the CR-V owners because it's gonna be the quickest and most affordable way to get into the platform rack space. So if you have a two inch or inch and a quarter hitch receiver on your CR-V, and you want something that has a bit more stability than a hanging rack but isn't that pricey, that's where the XC 2 comes in handy. So it does a decent job at making sure your bike is steady as you drive around. It's not swinging around, but it also has its downsides like its very limited features. So that comes in so be mindful. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 bike platform rack. We're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2022 Honda CR-V. So right off the bat, you're gonna need a hitch receiver on your CR-V, a two inch hitch receiver if you wanna carry this bike rack. This is gonna be a two plus two rack, so you can quickly remove this extension if you wanna convert it back to a two bike rack or add the extension if you wanted to turn it into a four bike platform rack. It is on the heavier side. I would recommend having a friend help you out with installing it. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination 4, and we're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2023 Subaru Impreza. So the Destination 4 is one of my favorite bike racks because it can carry around four bikes, it's compact, it's lightweight, and it's affordable. Now, it also has its downside though, which is it has a maximum weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike, plus it does not tilt away. So if you have extra heavy electric bikes over 35 pounds, I do recommend taking a look at something else. Those are gonna be more premium racks though, like the Saris MHS might be your best bet. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Honda Passport- Video

Our bike rack is going to be a platform style bike rack being able to hold up to two bikes individually. They can be up to 60 pounds each, which means our heavier e-bikes are going to be an option here. Notice also that we are not making any frame contact, which means that our carbon frame bikes as well as the alternative frame bikes are going to be an option for this too. We make two main points of contact, which is going to be on our back tire, which is just a rubber strap and a hook here on our front. more

Comparison of the Hollywood Destination and the Yakima On Ramp E-Bike Racks- Video

So if you wanna carry around some heavy electric bikes you might have noticed that electric bikes seem to be getting heavier and heavier which also makes it trickier and trickier to get them onto your rack and off of it. So we've noticed that different brands have different solutions to making this an easier process for you. A common solution is to add ramps. So we have two bike racks here that have ramps included with them. There's the Yakima OnRamp as well as the Hollywood Racks Destination E bike rack and they do a lot of things similarly. So with this bike rack, you have a really cool dual-wheel mount system, where you just hit the pistons (pistons clicking) and the mount goes up (mount clicks) and you're ready to load your bike. When you load your bike on there, (mount clicking) just bring it in, and you secure the bike by the front and the rear wheels. If you're familiar with the Kuat Piston Pro X, the main difference between the X and this one is the Kashima Coating as well as the wiring and taillights that the Pro X has and this one has not. But other than that, you have the really cool benefits of having a very easy-to-use bike rack. more

The destination is actually one of my favorite four bike platform racks. One, because it's at a really good entry level price, but even with that, it has a bunch of just solid fundamental features that make it easier to carry around multiple bikes without taking up too much time or too much carrying. This is gonna be a very lightweight rack that's also very compact. So, as cool as that all sounds, the downside to it though is it does not tilt away, it doesn't have an electric bike weight capacity, and you do have to be mindful that it does take a bunch of different steps to fully secure your bike and figuring that out the first time can be a little tricky. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're talking about the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack on the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz. Now typically I'd recommend a tailgate pad for anything with a bed on it, but in our case, the Santa Cruz has a smaller bed, so it's not gonna be able to accommodate a lot of different bike sizes. So I'd recommend a hitch bike rack, like the one we're talking about today, it's gonna be one of our more premium options, and what I like about it is how versatile it is. What makes it so versatile is its ability to hold up the 60 pounds per bike, holding two bikes, so that you're gonna be able to hold your heavy e-bikes. And we're gonna have two tie-down points, one being our strap on the back tire, and then we're gonna have this ratcheting hook on the front tire. more

Hey, everybody, Cooper here from etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE on our 2021 Nissan Rogue. What we have here is going to be a platform-style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes at an impressive 80 pounds each for their weight rating, which means that our heavier e-bikes are going to be an option for this. Now unfortunately, one of our main points of contact is going to be from the center mass, and it's going to be making that frame contact, which means that our carbon frame bikes unfortunately are not going to be an option for this rack. However, since our hook does have the ability to move up and down this rack pretty freely, that means that we're going to be able to accommodate most alternative frame bikes. Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XC2 two bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of this 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. Now the XC2 is gonna be a platform style bike rack holding the bike in these wheel hoops at the bottom and primarily keeping it still with our frame hook up top. That's going to press the bike down into those wheel hoops and keep it secure. Now this is going to be able to handle 35 pounds per bike and because it makes the contact of the frame it isn't the best fit for carbon frame bikes and for alternative frame bikes you're gonna need a bike adapter bar because this hook needs somewhere relatively flat to grab onto to get a good hold on the bike. more

As you can see here, it's capable of carrying carbon frame bikes. Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video

Hi, Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. One of the main features that sets this hanging style bike rack from the other ones is it has the potential to carry five bikes at one time, each at 40 pounds and a maximum of 150 pounds. And since it makes contact with the bike rack, it's not gonna be compatible with carbon frame bike racks or alternative frame bike racks. And since its weight capacity is only 40 pounds, it will not be compatible with e-bikes either. Now if you do have an alternative style bike or a child's bike, we do have these adapter bars that make them compatible with the hanging frames. You do have these adjustable clips that keep your bikes in place. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video

Hi Matt here with the etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. This rack is capable of holding four bikes, 35 pounds each, has three straps, one on each tire and one on the frame. This is gonna prevent it from being carbon frame friendly, and it's not gonna be E-bike friendly either. Something we did notice about this bike rack is when we had our bike in this first spot here, the handle bars actually made contact with the back of the windshield, just barely, so we decided to move it on to this second rack here. And this is about a 29 inch handlebar length, so if you do have any bikes that are 29 and longer, I'd keep 'em on the third, the second rack and up. Now if you have any ones that have shorter lengths, I'd say they would fit here. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video

Hi Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat NV Base on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. Since our Kuat NV Base is a premium bike rack, it has the ability to tilt back. So all we'll have to do is press down on this lever and let it tilt back, kind of cradling the back end. Now we'll have access to our back hatch. Now keep in mind that we do have 29" handlebars, and that barely makes clearance. So if you have anything wider, I'd definitely put that on the other rack back here. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack's Destination E-bike rack, and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2023 Hyundai Palisade. This is gonna be an excellent option for carrying your E-bikes because it has a 70 pound capacity per bike, so good for some heavier E-bikes. And one of my favorite things about this is how easy it's to operate, anywhere from the tilting to the included ramp that we'll all see in a bit. I do wanna talk about some of the bikes this we'll work with besides E-bikes because it does have a clamp that holds onto the frame up top here. It's not gonna be the best fit for carbon frame bikes, but because that clamp can move around and rotate 360 degrees, it's gonna work fine for any alternative frame bikes. more

Kuat bike racks are definitely something aesthetically that really stands out on the road. I have one on the back of my vehicle and I absolutely love it. Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have Yakima OnRamp 2-Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So, the Yakima OnRamp is definitely designed for your electric bikes. It has an included ramp attached to the bike rack. Great if you're the type of person that forgets to bring the ramp like I am and it is popular for the reasons of that ramp being able to adjust this and having a lot of versatility for how it secures the bikes. Now for the Subaru Ascent though we're gonna talk about how it fits with this vehicle. I personally think it's a great fit, especially since the height of the hitch on the Ascent makes it pretty necessary for ramps for those heavier bikes. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Hyundai Tucson- Video

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at Etrailer, and today, we have the Swagman XC 2 two bike platform rack. We'll take a look at how it fits on our 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Now, with the Swagman XC 2, it's actually really popular as a bike rack, mainly because it's an entry level rack, so entry level price, very affordable, but it gives you the stability of having a platform rack. Now, when you do use it with different vehicles, it works differently too, and the main thing here with the Tucson is with the hitch on this, I could not get this bike onto the closest tray without the pedals hitting the bumper or the door. So my clearance was very limited, so that's somethin' to be mindful. Now, if you have the smaller pedals, and we have those clip shoes, then you might be fine, but that's just somethin' to give you as a heads up. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent- Video

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Swagman XC2 two bike platform rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So with this bike rack, it's gonna be really popular because it's a very entry level bike rack so it's affordable, but it also allows you to carry around your bikes on a platform rack rather than swinging around on a hanging rack. So if you're not interested on paying extra for features you may not need, this is something that you might consider. Now, there's definitely some downsides to that too, like you can't tilt it away, there's no locks, you have a 35 pound per bike weight capacity, things like that. So we'll talk about that, but we're gonna focus on our Subaru Ascent here to see if it'll be a right fit for your car. The very first thing I'd like to talk about is the clearance between the bike and the car. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have a Kuat Piston Pro bike rack for four bikes, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So, this is gonna be a pretty impressive bike rack. It's a large rack that's for sure, and it can carry four bikes, but it also has the Kuat at one touch pistons to make it quick and easy to load and unload those bikes. So, you just press a button and the arms swing up just like that, that's a pretty cool factor for when you're on the trails, and at the parking lot, and you're ready to grab your bikes and go. But there's some things you have to consider when you use this with the Ascent. One of the main things I've noticed with this bike rack is that the Ascent has a lot of ground clearance, the hitch sits really high off of the ground. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 3 Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So the Kuat Transfer is pretty popular for the reasons of it's a good premium rack without being as much of a premium price as the Kuat NV. So if you like Kuat bike racks, but you're looking for something that's maybe slightly more affordable that's where the Kuat Transfer comes in handy. Also, it has a unique goalpost design that makes it easier for you to grab your bikes and load them up as well as once it's in the compact position then you have more visibility behind your vehicle. But with how it works on the Subaru Ascent unfortunately this bike rack does not tilt down far enough away for you to fully open up your hatch door. So if that's a very important feature for you this might not be the best fit for you and I have some suggestions as alternatives if you stick around for the end of this video but first, I'll show you what I mean. more
