How Does the B&W Companion Slider Hitch Adapter Fit in a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?- Video
Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500, we're gonna be checking out the B&W Companion Sliding Type 5th Wheel Hitch. Right away, the Companion is designed to work with the B&W underbed hitches and the way that you'd set this up is you would remove the goose ball that comes with your underbed hitch out from it, and then on the bottom of the Companion, there's gonna be a shank just like this, which will allow you to drop this down into the hitch, lock it down, and now you'll have a 5th wheel to work with. Personally, I'm a big fan of the underbed hitches made by BMW, not only because you can use your goose ball and have the ability to take a 5th wheel hitch like the Companion, drop it in real quick and tow that type of trailer. But I also like 'em because in order to use most 5th wheel heads right, you'll have to install a rail kit, which takes up bed space in your bed. You know the rails are exposed, completely visible, and with the underbed hitch you just have a small little gooseneck opening that you have to deal with. more

Today we're gonna be taking a look at this CURT E16 fifth wheel hitch kit, and we're gonna see how it fits on our 2022 Ford F-450 with the factory towing prep package. Now I say kit because obviously this comes with the E16 fifth wheel hitch, but it's also going to come with these adapter rails that allow your industry standard rail fitting fifth wheel to attach to that factory towing prep package that might be present in your Ford F-450. It's essentially just an adapter that's included with this kit. Now it's worth mentioning that CURT does make a version of the E-Series fifth wheel hitch that it's time to go directly into that factory towing prep package. more

Hey guys, it's Shane here, with etrailer. Today we have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, and we're gonna be taking a look at the B&W Patriot fifth wheel hitch. Right off the bat, you might be thinking to yourself, how are they gonna be able to use the standard fifth wheel hitch in the bed of a short bed truck Well, that's possible because they have a rotating pin box on their fifth wheel. It is actually a really, really good pairing. I would personally say, almost better than a sliding fifth wheel, because a sliding fifth wheel, you have to get out to give yourself more space to be able to make turns. Whereas if you have a rotating pin box on your fifth wheel, such as the Turning Point or the the Sidewinder, the Reese Sidewinder, those work perfect with this. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look at the B&W Patriot sliding fifth wheel in a 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500. Something that I recommend to every person that is towing a fifth wheel with a short bed or not a long bed truck is going to be a sliding fifth wheel. There's other ways around, you know, preventing cab corners from getting crushed, you can get a movable pin box and that's gonna help a little bit, but this is a great way, if you're having to navigate in some really tight turns, to have that ability to be able to slide this back, give you that clearance to make that turn, and then you can hit the road after that. Otherwise, you are gonna be stuck with just kind of smaller angles than normal, otherwise you run the risk of damaging your truck. So this is a nice easy way to make that short bed still be able to tow a fifth wheel with no problem. Operate the slide function super easy on here. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer, and today we're talking about our B&W Patriot Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. Now this will be a great option for you if you are trying to haul and anything behind you and you have a short bed, because what that sliding 5th wheel is gonna do for you is when you are making those sharper turns, whether in a really tight neighborhood or when you are backing up into a campsite, this is gonna help keep that load behind you from making contact with your cab. So the scenario to think about is maybe you've reached your campsite and you need to back your camper up into the spot you found, and it's a little bit tight and you're at more of a jackknife position, so we're gonna probably have to push this slider back some so we can make that turn. So what we're gonna do is just reach over here and just throw this handle. Now if you are having issues reaching this, which is not too bad to reach, I find it pretty fine. But if you do find issues, what I recommend is just using your tire, step it up, and flipping that real quick. more

Now, these installation brackets will mount beneath your truck bed, onto the truck frame, and then provide a nice attachment point for your 5th wheel rails. Now, those base rails are sold separately, and they would sit in the bed of your truck and then allow you to mount a 5th wheel trailer hitch onto those rails. Now, folks, this is all the brackets and all the hardware you're gonna get with you, you're gonna get the fish wire here. All the brackets here are made of a nice heavy duty black powder coated steel, it's gonna resist corrosion, rust, that kind of stuff. more

This system is designed to drop right down into your factory Ford puck system. We're gonna have two different weight capacities available for this hitch, that is a 20,000 pound, which is one we have in front of us here, and a 25,000 pound rating. Trying to pick out the correct hitch for you between the 20,000 pound and the 25,000 pound hitch, you want to go with the hitch that's closest to the weight rating of your camper without going over. So if you have an 18,000 pound camper, I would not go with the 25,000 pound hitch, I would go with the 20,000. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the B&W Companion Sliding Fifth Wheel for OEM-prepped Ford trucks. Now, today we have it in a 2024 Ford F-250. Now if you have the factory prep, or puck system as they call it, on your Ford, this is gonna be a great option, especially with those short beds because of the sliding function. And if you've towed fifth wheels before, you know that when you start to make tight turns with those short bed trucks, you can run the risk of damaging the cab corners with that fifth wheel hitting the truck. Well, the great thing about having a sliding fifth wheel means you can still keep your short bed truck and not have to worry about hitting those cab corners because when you make those tight turns, you can slide the head back, giving you more clearance. (metal thudding) Now in that sliding back position, you gain 12 inches of travel, and that's gonna make the world a difference when you get yourself into a tight situation where you just can't turn anymore but you really can't get out of there, sliding this is gonna allow you to get that clearance, make that tight turn, and get out of that situation. more

Today we have a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you some of the cool features on the B&W Companion Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for our OEM GM puck system. This sliding 5th wheel hitch is designed for trucks with a 6-3/4' foot bed. And the reason for that is that when you're going to make tighter turns with campers, when you have a 5th wheel camper, the nose is gonna be somewhere in this general vicinity. And if you don't have that longer bed with the extra, you know, foot and a half space up at the front, you're gonna have issues with the front of the nose of the camper making contact with your truck. That is where this sliding feature on this hitch comes into play. more

Curt 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter Rails Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 3500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Curt fifth wheel adapter rails for factory prep Chevy and GMC trucks with the OEM prep package. And today we have it on a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500. So if you've upgraded your towing rig to something with an OEM prep package, instead of going out and buying a whole new fifth wheel that drops into that, this adapter rail is gonna allow you to use your previous fifth wheel because this gives you the ISR standard rails. And that way you can drop that fifth wheel in and you'll be ready to hit the road. Now this is also a pretty heavy duty adapter, so depending on your fifth wheel, you're obviously gonna want to take a look at all the weights and make sure that everything's playing ball. This one is rated at a gross trailer weight rating of 25,000 pounds. more

These adapter rails are designed to turn your OEM puck system, if you get a new truck into the industry standard rails that you would typically have in your older vehicle. If you have a fifth wheel hitch already, that's where this is gonna come into play because it's gonna drop into one of the three locations just like it would in those industry standard rails. Hey, everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2023 Ford F-350, we're gonna be checking out the B&W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch for trucks that have the OEM prep package. So I think it's really cool that not only Ford, but some of the other manufacturers of these late mile trucks are starting to put the prep package in right from the factory. And so if you have that, it's gonna make setting up a fifth wheel, or even a gooseneck hitch for that matter, extremely easy since essentially, these just drop right into place. So right off the bat, this is gonna be a fixed-style hitch, meaning you're not able to slide it back. And so ideally, you're gonna want to use this style in a truck that has a long bed, and that's because with that longer box, you're gonna have more clearance referring to the cab. more

Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider Review- Video
Today we're gonna be taking a look at the current line of Q Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches with slider for the Ford Towing Prep Package. More and more nowadays, we're seeing trucks that have shorter than eight foot beds on them, which comes in a problem when we go to tow in the fifth wheel, 'cause we want our hitch to be on the forward side of our rear axle. But that ends up putting our trailer extremely close to our cab. That's where our slider's gonna help out. When it comes time to make those tight turns, we can come to this vertical handle here on the side. We'll pull it out, rotate it back, and that'll allow the hitch to slide back a full 12", giving us a clearance to go around the turn and we'll lock into position so we can make that turn without fear of hitting our truck. more
