Today on our 2013 Subaru Outback, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Dura Parallelogram. This is a tilt away style 4 bike rack. It's designed for use in 2" hitches. Its part number is SR26247. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we're going to want to line up one of the sets of holes that we have. We're going to be using the furthest one, or the one closest to the car, just so we have as much clearance room as possible. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback wagon we're going to be test fitting the Saris Bike Porter. This is a tilting-style 4-bike rack designed for use in 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SA404B. Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we want to be sure that the pinhole in our rack lines up with the pinhole in our hitch. With those in line we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt, slide it in from the left to the right, and tighten it down. We'll use a wrench for the final torque process. more

Today, on our 2006, Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Axis, three bike rack, part number SA843B. We'll begin out test-fit by sliding the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin holes. We'll then take our anti-rattle bolt, and threat it through our pin holes. Now we'll go and tighten it down using our socket wrench. Once we have that tightened, we can secure it with the lock on the other side, and tightened it down with the anti-rattle bolt. It's going to take out any wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. more

Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan 4 Bike Rack, part number S63410. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin holes, and then we can thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We're just going to go ahead and install it finger tight, and then we'll finish the securing process using our socket wrench. Tightening up our anti-rattle system is going to take out any rattle or wobble that we may have inside the hitch. We'll go ahead and install our clip on the other side. With our bike rack in this position, it's going to give us a ground clearance of right at about 14". more

Today on our 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-bike rack, part number HR8500. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll go ahead and line up our pin holes, then we can thread in our anti-rattle bolt. Now, we're just installing this finger tight and then we'll grab our socket wrench and tighten it all the way down. This is going to help reduce the amount of wobble and rattle that we have inside of our hitch. We'll take our clip and secure it on the other side of our pin. With our bike rack in this position, it's going to give us a ground clearance of about 11". more

We'll now go ahead and pull the pin here at the bottom of the mast to allow the mast to tilt down. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon well be test fitting the Thule hitching post pro, part number TH934XTR. Since we have an inch and a quarter class two hitch on our vehicle we wont need the adapter sleeve on the shank of our carrier. Now to mount it well insert the shank into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up the pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with a wrench. Next well go over a handful of clearance measurements to give you an idea of how the bike rack is going to fit behind the vehicle. Weve got about 11 inches of ground clearance. more

Today on our 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon, well be test fitting the Kuat Alpha three-Bike Carrier, part number a103-white-114. To mount our carrier to our vehicle, well insert the shank of the carrier into the hitch. Well line up our hitch pinholes, then we use the handle at the base of the carrier to tighten the anti-rattle device then well secure the carrier with a locking hitch pin. Next, well go over a handful of clearance measurements so you can get an idea of how the carrier is going to fit behind the Outback. Weve got about 12 inches of ground clearance and about five inches of clearance between the closest of the carrier and out Outbacks bumper. Overall, weve added about 13 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle with the carriers arms folded down. more

With our bike rack already pre-assembled, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well start by inserting the shank into the hitch. Well line up the hitch pinhole and insert our anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt in, well go ahead and tighten it down using a wrench and then well install the safety pin. more

Today in our 2008 Subaru Outback we're going to be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style Bike Carrier, product number TH990XT. One quick note about this bike rack, it will fit both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches class 1 through 3 compatible. With our bike rack preassembled and set up for the 2-inch hitch we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. And we'll begin by inserting the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and insert our anti-rattle bolt installed we'll go ahead and tighten it down using a wrench and with the anti-rattle bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle and we're ready to begin loading it up. At this point, we're going to give you a few measurements. more
