Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer, we're going to be test fitting the Curt two-bike platform rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18085. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature about this rack is that you can carry up to two bikes and actually have it tilt away to gain rear hatch access. To do that, we'll come to the base of our bike rack and you'll see two pins, a smaller and larger. We'll remove the larger pin first, we'll pull that out, and now while holding onto the bike rack we'll let it tilt away, and now we have full access to get to our rear hatch to get what we need, and plenty of space on either side to do so. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Focus we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, Part Number TH912XTR. Now our bike's gonna be held onto our bike rack at three points. We're gonna have two straps. They're gonna go over our cross tube here on the top and then right here on our vertical support we're gonna have another strap that's gonna act as our anti-sway. Now the way we're gonna remove it is we're just gonna pull on the straps and release it from the holder right here. Now these are rubber straps so we won't have to worry about scratching our bike or in the paint on it. With all the straps loosened we can take our bike off and take a closer look at our bike rack. The cradles here are gonna have several grooves in them and that's to help keep our bike secure. more

Malone Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Ford Explorer- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer, we're going to be test fitting the Malone Hanger Three-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number MPG2127. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. At the end of both of our arms we do have these reflectors for better visibility at night. The cradles are accessible along the arms to accommodate loading, and you tighten them down by tightening these screws at the bottom here. It'll grip your bike at two points. We're going to have this strap up at the top here and one off to the side, which will serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and making bike-to-bike contact. We also have this foam pad at the mast here to help protect the frame of your bike from any scratches or abrasion. more

Today on our 2017 Ford Explorer, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Dispatch Two Bike platform rack for two-inch hitches, part number S64684. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have a padded frame hookup at the top and it's padded to make sure the bike itself doesn't get damaged or scratched once it's being installed. We'll also have two wheel straps on either tire. The wheel wells are adjustable by loosening and tightening these knobs to accommodate loading, but also to accommodate bikes of different sizes as well. It does have a raised shank to it so even if your hitch does sit particularly low to the ground, you're not going to have clearance issues. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

The biggest feature about this bike rack is the fact that it can swing away from the vehicle, so you can have full rear hatch access with all the bikes still attached, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. To do that, we'll undo this knob at the back all the way, like so. We'll pull this pin out. Pull up on the T-pin here. Start pushing it out till you reach about the 90-degree point, which will be right about here. more

Today on our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy Four-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches, part number Y02464. Now, one of the more important features about this rack is the fact that this can swing away from the vehicle giving you full access to your truck bed, if necessary. This is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. To do that, we'll come to the back first. You'll see this turn knob here. Loosen it up by turning it to the left all the way till it sticks out like so. Then, you come to this switch here, lift up and pull out. Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the Thule double track two bike platform rack, part number TH990XT. Now the way we have our bike mounted here is there's going to be three points of contact. We're going to have a frame hook right here and we're going to have a strap going over each wheel. Now the way we take these off, if we take the silver tab and we lift up and push in on the black button, feed our strap through, and we'll do the same thing on the back side. Now as we come to our frame hook here, if we push in on the gray button we can move our hook up and remove our bike. I always just like to put the straps back that way we don't have to worry about them getting damaged. Here on our frame hook it is going to make contact with the frame, but it does have a nice, soft foam coating so we don't have to worry about any scratches on our bike. more

Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Apex swing four bike rack, part number TH9027. Now one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that we can actually move our bike rack out of the way to gain access to our back hatch without having to remove the bike itself. If we come down here to think knob, it's going to be located directly behind the mast, we loosen this knob and we come up this lever here and we pull on this lever, we're going to actually swing our bike rack out of the way and we can gain full access to our back hatch to get anything in or out that we may need. Now to put our bike back into position, simply swing the bike rack back around, lift up on this lever and we can tighten down our knob again. Now if we take a closer look at how our bike is mounted to our bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have two straps on our cross bar here and we're going to have one on the vertical support acting as our anti sway cradle. Now to take the bike off, simply pull on the rubber straps releasing them and our bike can come right off. more

Today on our 2017 Ford F250 Super duty we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Hold Up two bike rack for two inch hitches, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. One of the more interesting features about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. To do that holding on to the bike rack, we'll come to the front with this red knob. You lift out and let it come towards you. Unfortunately with how close it is to the vehicle, you're not going to be able to open up your tail gate all the way because it will make contact with the bike. We'll just lift it back up into position until you hear that click. more

We're going to have this padded frame hook up at the top, which is padded to insure that your frame doesn't get scratched up once it's being installed. Then we have these hook and loop straps on each tire being held into place by adjustable wheel cradles. By loosening and tightening these nobs, you can move these up and down to accommodate loading and to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Right now we have it in a four bike configuration. more

Today in our 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex Swing 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9031XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now the most important feature about this rack is the fact that it can swing away from the vehicle to give you full access to your tailgate or your hatch, without having to remove the bikes, which is pretty unique for a hanging style bike rack. To do that, we'll come to the back first. We'll undo this knob here, unscrewing it all the way. Move this pin here as well, lift up on this pin, swing it out. So you have it almost about 90 degrees. more

We're going to have two hook-and-loop straps on either tire, and we're going to have this padded frame hook up at the top to ensure that your bike's frame doesn't get scratched up when it's being installed. One of the biggest features about this bike rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to get access to your rear tailgate. To do that, we'll have two pins and clips here at the base. We'll remove those and we'll let it come down. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Today on 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XT 2 Bike Rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is held into place, we're going to have one point of contact, and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top. Now it's padded so that the frame of your bike doesn't get scratched up once it's being installed. We also have these adjustable wheel cradles at the base which can move back and forth by loosening and tightening the knobs at the top, and this is to accommodate bikes of different sizes. We also have a nice raised shank to the bike rack itself, so even if your hitch sits particularly low to the ground, you're not going to have any clearance issues between the bike rack and the ground. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

We're going to have two straps up at the top, and one off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and making bike to bike contact. The cradles themselves are adjustable along the arms to accommodate loading and unloading. We also have these grooves on the cradles as well. So once your bike sets down, the frame won't be pushing against the cables. more

Today on our 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 bike rack part number TH9029XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack, lets take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike rack grips your bike, it's going to have three points of contact with two straps up at the top and one strap off to the side, which is going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and making bike to bike contact with the bikes in front of it. We also have an integrated cable lock up at the top of the mast. You pull that out, wrap it around your bikes, bring it up at the front and then lock it into place to secure your bikes to the bike rack. The cradles are movable to accommodate loading. They also have these groves in them so when your bike rests on here the cables can actually go into these screws, not be pressed up against the frame while it's being installed or crushed when it's being tightened down. more

Thule Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack, part number TH9029XT. Now the way we're going to secure our bike to our bike rack, there's going to be three points of contact. We're going to have two straps coming over the top crossbar here. Then we're going to have a rubber strap and our anti-sway cradle here. Now to take the bike off, simply pull the straps off. Once all the straps are removed, we can pull our bike right off. Now where our bike is going to meet the bike rack, it's going to have these nice grooves so it's going to have a secure grip on it as well, as the rubber-coated straps so we're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on our frame. more
