Rola Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota C-HR- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota CH-R, we're going to test fitting Rola's Convoy two bike platform rack, part number 59307-2. It's also available in a 1 bike platform rack, with part number 59307. This is a modular, two bike platform rack. What's great about this rack is that it holds your bike with no frame contact using the wheel cradle in the front, the cradle in the back, and the lever here that clamps the wheel. The module design allows you to install just one rack, and then tier up to add one more rack. If you want to tier it down to one to minimize the impact on how long it is, you can take this bolt out here and this section will come off.While your bikes are installed, if you need to access the gear in your trunk to prepare yourself for your trek, you can pull the pin located here, lift up slightly on the rack, and pull outward. more

We're just going to come to this foot pedal right here and push down, and we can tilt it away like so. Now, I will point out that when we come to open up our tailgate, we do come in contact with our bike as we get farther down, as you can see, just like that. So you can't open up your tailgate all the way if you have a bike installed, however, you can open it up enough to go to reach under it and open up your tonneau cover, and then you can get whatever you need out of your truck.To tilt it back up, we're just going to grab a hold of the bike rack and tilt it up, til it latches just like that. We have two different points where our bike is secured. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner S64689- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we're gonna be test fitting the Swagman E-Spec 2-Bike Platform Rack, part number S64689.Now what sets this apart from other back racks is it increases the carrying capacity so it can fit up to two E-Bikes, 70 pounds each. This doesn't tilt away from the vehicle like most platform racks, but again it is designed mainly to carry those bulkier bikes such as the E-Bikes that you see here. How it holds the bike in place, we're gonna have three points of contact. We're gonna have two wheel straps at each side, and the wheel cradles here by loosening or tightening the knobs in the front. You can adjust these back and forth to accommodate for bikes of different sizes, but also to help out with the loading process. Up at the top we do have a padded frame hook here. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be taking a look at the Rola Convoy Full Bike Platform Rack, and that's gonna be part number 59308-4. We do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features of this rack. Now this bike rack has a nice modular design to it. Now what that means, is that with the additional tools that we're gonna get with the bike rack, we can remove each layer as we so choose. So right now, we have it set up for four bikes, but if you only want to carry three bikes for the day, with ease you can't take off the fourth layer, take off that much weight from the back of your vehicle. You can move it to two, or even a one bike rack.If we look at these cradles, we're gonna see that the back of the front wheel cradle can pivot like so, and that's gonna help accommodate to a lot of different sized wheels you might have when hauling around bikes.If we look inside the frame, we're gonna see it can accommodate a lot of different sized tires as well. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light Four Bike Rack for inch-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, and that's going to be part number INH640. As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and see some of the features.If we start from the outside and work our way in, we're going to see this integrated cable lock system that's going to come out from the base of our rack all the way out. You can wrap it around whatever bikes you might have installed. Then, it inserts into this little spot right here, just like that. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack, so when you want to unlock the cable you simply just slide this little tab up right here, and then you have the insert for your key, unlock your cable, and then you can unload your bikes.If we look at the cradles, we're going to see that they can pivot back and forth, and they can move up and down the rack like so. That's going to help out for any size bike you might have or the spacing you want between your bikes. more

This is pretty rare when it comes to a hanging style bike rack because, most of the time, you'd have to get either a swing out to keep all four bikes on while you're getting into your rear hatch, but this makes it super easy.You come to the inside here to this trigger, push it, and push out. Try not to get your microphone caught on it. And now we have full rear hatch access to get what we need, and there's going to be plenty of space on either side to do so, if your hatch opens up all the way. Like most platform style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached, and they did make a slight improvement over the last HoldUp, where there you actually had to pull out a pin and hold onto the bike rack, and it was a little awkward to lower it down. With this, they have a easy-to-access handle. You pull towards you, let the bike rack come forward, and unfortunately, for the Sienna, you can't open the hatch all the way, because it will come into contact with our handlebar that you see there, although you can gain some access. To put the bike rack back up, we'll simply lift up on the bike rack itself until you hear a click.How the bike is held into place will have two points of contact. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Rav4- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Roadway 2 bike rack, part number TH912XTR.So we already have a bike mounted up to our bike rack on our RAV4 and we're going to have three points of contact that are going to be holding it in place. We're going to have two straps going across the top cross tube here as well as one going across the vertical tube to keep it from swaying back and forth too much. So let's go ahead and take our bike off and take a closer look at some of the details.We're going to have rubber coated straps holding our bike in place. We're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions and we can simply just pull them loose. And you always want to make sure you have a firm hold of your bike so it doesn't go falling off. We'll remove it and set it aside.The cradles where our bike are going to sit are going to have a nice cushion to them as well as these channels here that are going to allow any kind of cables or anything to sit nicely in there and not get pinched. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota RAV4- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 classic, part number TH9044. I've already got it loaded up on my RAV4 with my electric bike just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes. The nice thing about this bike rack is it has a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, so it's gonna work out great for our electric bikes that come in around that range. One of my favorite features is that it has the ability to tilt away with bikes loaded so we can gain access to our rear hatch. And we can do that by pulling out the safety pin first, then pulling our lever towards us, and then we're just gonna lower it down until it rests. You can see we're able to get into our rear hatch no problem to remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. more
