Best 2013 GMC Terrain Roof Rack Options

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 GMC Terrain we're going to be taking a look at the best roof rack options available. The three roof rack systems we're going to be taking a look at today are going to be the Yakima JetStream roof rack system, and then the Thule AeroBlade roof rack system, and finally the Inno Aero roof rack system. While all three of these roof rack systems have their similarities, we're going to be focusing on their differences. We're going to start with the rubber strips at the top of the bars. Now looking at both the Inno and the Yakima, you can use T-track accessories just like you can with the Thule. The slight difference between these three is, with the Yakima and the Inno, all you have to do is push down the rubber strip and push your T-track accessory in place without having to cut the strip itself. However, to do that you have to remove the end caps and make that happen. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2013 GMC Terrain- Video

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2013 GMC Terrain

Today, on our 2013 GMC Terrain, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System using the 47 inch aeroblades part number THARB47 and the Rapid Crossroads foot packs part number TH450R. With our roof rack assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions, we'll begin our test fit by grabbing the front half of our rack, we're going to place it onto the front half of our side rails. We'll bring the rubber-coated metal straps around the underside of the side rails and fit it into the foot pack. We'll do this on both sides. Usually, we would find a fix point and get measurements. In the case of your Terrain, you'll want the foot pack to be as far forward as possible. We'll take a quick look to check our bar, be sure we have it spaced evenly on both sides, then we'll remove the included tool located in the foot pack and tighten down the Allen bolt on each side. With both sides secure, we'll replace the tool on our foot pack and we can move to the rear. more

Thule Crossroad Load Bars Installation - 2013 GMC Terrain

Today on our 2013 GMC Terrain we're going to be testing the Thule crossroads roof rack system, using part number THLB50 and TH450 with both halves of our roof rack assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions. We'll begin by placing the front half of our rack under the front half of our side rails. We'll bring the black coated metal straps around the underside of our side rails and fit it back into the foot of the carrier. When we place our foot packs on to our side rails, we want to make sure that the small arrow located on the foot pack is centered on the side rail. With both of our straps around our side rails and fit back into the foot pack, we'll take a quick look to be sure we have even overhang on both sides. Then we can use the tool included in the foot pack to tighten the Allen bolts. When we're done tightening it, we'll simply replace the tool back into the foot pack. With both sides secure, that will take care of the front half of our rack. more

Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack Installation - 2013 GMC Terrain

Today on our 2013 GMC Terrain, we'll be testing the Thule Areoblade Edge Roof Rack System for the raised factory side rails, part number TH7501-TH7501. To begin our test fit, we'll grab our front bar and place it onto the front part of our roof. We'll go ahead and remove the black plastic cover and place our straps into position. You'll notice that one end of the strap has four slots. This is the end that's going to go under the side rail, back into the foot of the carrier. The four different slots are to accommodate the different size side rails you may have. We'll be setting ours on slot number three today. With that set, we'll bring it around our side rail and fit the end with the two holes around our mounting points in the foot of our bar. more
