Hi there, Flex owners. Today on your 2011 Ford Flex, we're going to be taking a look at the best custom fit trailer wiring options. For your Flex, we have two custom wiring harnesses available. On the left we have our harness from Tekonsha. On the right we have our harness from CURT. Both of these harnesses are going to provide you with a four-pole flat connector at the back of the vehicle that you can plug into your trailer to get all of your necessary lighting. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Ford Flex- Video
Today we're gonna be installing Wiring Harness Number 118472 from Tow Ready on this 2011 Ford Flex. The first thing we'll do is remove the tail light assemblies on the driver's and passenger's side. There are two bolts underneath the rear hatch that you have to remove and then you pull out the driver's side assembly to the side of the vehicle and then we'll do the same on the passenger's side when this one's completed. Now with the tail lights removed and disconnected I'm gonna route the 4-way connector and the green wire with T-connectors on the end down between the vehicle body and the bumper and pull it out underneath. Once we have the wires routed down into the body and the bumper we'll plug the mating connectors on the T-connector in with the connectors on the tail light.
