Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Subaru Impreza

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Subaru Impreza, we're gonna be taking a look at showing you how to install the Draw-Tite classic fit trailer hitch receiver, part number DT-24959. So here's what our hitch is going to look like. The cross tube is going to be visible, and it's going to fit right below our bumper. It's a class one hitch, which means it's going to give us an inch and a quarter, by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening, and this is going to be great for some of those small bike racks or smaller cargo carriers. The way we're going to mount all of our accessories, is going to be through the hitch pin pull here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard half inch pin and clip. While these aren't included in our kit, you can pick them up here at etrailer.com using part number PC2.The safety chain connection points are going to be a loop style, welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. And as you can see, you're not going to have trouble getting most sized hooks on or off. more

Then we have our Draw-Tite Class 1, part number 24888. Both of these hitches have their advantages, but let's go ahead and go over some of their differences. Now while these do both have plates for added durability, the Draw-Tites are actually going to be separate from the safety chain loops, which makes it a little bit easier to attach them to be able to get in from any angle, while you notice with the CURT, they're a little bit thicker, so that might be a little bit of a problem. Now another difference between these two hitches, the fact that they do install slightly differently. While the CURT only requires two attachment points, while the Draw-Tite's going to have three, and it also requires drilling. more
