CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Curt Premium four bike rack on our 2022 Honda CR-V. Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style rack which means the bike hangs by the frame. We've got two straps over the frame at the top here keeping it down in the cradles. And the third one on the seat post, the seat post strap is gonna limit that side to side movement. It's still there, but it does help limit it and reduce bike to bike contact or in some cases even bike to vehicle contact. You can see our front tire doesn't really wanna sit still right here so I might consider adding a cam buckle strap from the tire to the frame just to keep it still. more

So this bike rack is a great all around bike rack at an affordable price compared to similar racks. You got your great weight capacity for your heavy bikes, you have that front wheel mount. So even if you have a carbon fiber frame bike or woman's bike or alternate frame, this is gonna work out for you. Now, some things that won't work out is things like the tilt away. We can tilt this bike rack away and it goes down a decent bit but not enough where we can completely lower our tailgate. more

It's a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these cradles, in these wheel hoops rather and by the frame here. Frame contact it's gonna mean we wanna avoid carbon frame bikes and we'll probably need a bike adapter bar with alternative frame bikes but otherwise it's gonna get a good strong hold on the bike and hold it really well. It's got a 35-pound weight capacity per bike, so as long as you're within those limits, you should be all good. Now I really like this one as an entry level platform rack. more

That's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, 120 pounds total, it is gonna be good for e-bikes too. Some things I like about it are the integrated cable locks right down here at the bottom so it can wrap right straight up around the frame and back down to the bike rack itself. And then the fact that it can tilt away with bikes loaded here, just pull this handle at the back, lean it down like that. more

Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Hyundai Palisade- Video

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack hanging style bike rack, here on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Now, this is a hanging style bike rack, meaning it hangs by the frame. We've got two straps over top of the frame, holding it down in these cradles, with a third one around the seatpost, limiting our side to side movement and bike to bike contact. There is still, obviously, going to be some movement but it will definitely help with that. more

Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination two-bike rack here on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. This is a platform-style bike rack holding the bike primarily by our frame here, with this cradle and strap around the frame. That is gonna mean we wanna avoid carbon frame bikes, because it's making frame contact. Although, because of the way this cradle and strap works, it does rotate 360 degrees and it's able to adapt to the frame. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Jayco Redhawk Motorhome- Video

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the CURT Premium hanging style bike rack here on our 2018 JayCo RedHawk motor home. Now the CURT Premium, like I said, is a hanging style rack. That means the bike hangs by its frame. We've got three points of contact, two straps over the top of the frame holding it down into these cradles here and then a third strap around the seat post limiting our side to side movement, helping with bike to bike contact. Now it does have a total weight capacity of 180 pounds. more

Thule EasyFold XT 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2022 Hyundai Palisade- Video

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Thule EasyFold XT 2-bike rack here on a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. So the EasyFold XT is sort of a unique bike rack. It has some great features that no other bike rack has. Now this bike rack is primarily gonna be used for electric bikes, 'cause it supports a 65 pound per bike weight capacity for each of our two cradles. So one of those other features that make it specific to e-bikes is the integrated loading ramp. Now there's actually a convenient little storage system for your ramp when you're not using it. more

Yakima StageTwo 2 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Gladiator- Video

Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Yakima StageTwo bike rack here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. So this particular rack here is gonna be a two bike rack allowing us to carry up to two bikes. Now, keep in mind, this rack is also available in a four bike version as well. So either you have the two bike and you wanna purchase the add-on to carry up to four bikes or you just purchase the four bike rack outta the gate. Keep in mind, if you purchase the four bike rack outta the gate, you can always take the outermost two trays off to have a two bike. Now, in regards to colors, we're gonna have a nice gray color here, which is what we see installed on our Gladiator today. more

Kuat Piston Pro X 2 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Gladiator- Video

Hey everyone. How's it going Today we're gonna be going over the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-bike rack here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Now there's a few different types of bike rack options on the market, the two main ones being hanging style and platform style. So this is obviously a platform style. A hanging bike rack, they're still great options, typically a lot more cost-effective than the platform style, but they're much harder to lift your bikes up and on to, and they don't allow you really to carry bikes over 35 pounds. So with the platform-style racks here, all you do is have to lift your bikes up to the wheel trace here. more
