Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Jayco Alante Motorhome- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec platform style bike rack on the back of our 2023 Jayco Alante motor home. So this is going to be a bike rack that's designed for use on motor homes, campers, fifth wheels or in this case our motor home. It's going to be a platform style rack that holds the bike in these cradles and primarily by our frame up top with a frame hook. Because it makes frame contact, it's not the best for carbon frame bikes and alternative frame bikes are gonna need a bike adapter bar to make sure this hook has something good to grab onto and keep it secure. Aside from that, it's going to be designed for use with e-bikes. more

Now, like I said, it's gonna be a hanging-style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes. And what makes the CURT Premium unique is the design of the arms. You can see at the very end here, the arms narrowed together so they're a lot closer together. This is gonna make it more accommodating for kids' bikes because those smaller frames typically have a hard time fitting over the dual arm design of most hanging style racks, so it reduces the need to get a bike adapter bar. more

Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Cadillac XT4- Video

Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack that will make contact with the bike, primarily by the frame. Holding it in place by these two rotating cradles, and then one anti-sway cradle in the back. So if you do wanna use this bike rack, and you have a carbon frame bike, we definitely recommend against it 'cause it does make frame contact, and it can damage it while you're driving. But the premium does have this nice feature where it tapers down at the end so you can accommodate some kids' bikes without the need for a bike adapter bar. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Rocky Mounts Monorail on the back of our 2023 Cadillac XT4. Now, the monorail is a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds each, held primarily in place by these wheel hooks and one strap on the back. Now, one of the nicer features that this rack does offer is that it doesn't make frame contact, so you're not gonna be worrying about damaging carbon frame bikes, if you choose to use those, while you're driving, and it accommodates alternative frame bikes as well. The rack can tilt away by using this blue lever down here at the bottom. I like to hold onto the frame while I do it, and slowly guide it down. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Cadillac XT4- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination, on the back of our 2023 Cadillac XT4. The Destination is a two-bike platform-style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 35 pounds each, held in place primarily on the center mast by these rotating clamps, they do rotate 360 degrees, and they're padded to support your bike as much as they can, but they do make frame contact so we definitely don't recommend using carbon frame bikes, so this can get damaged while you're driving, but the fact that they do move up and down and rotate should help support some alternative frame bikes. The rack itself does not tilt away with the bikes loaded so we do have to remove the bike to get the back open. So we can start doing that just by first releasing this strap in the back and then the strap in the front. The same way just by using these gray levers. more

Now this is gonna be, like I said, a swinging bike rack. What that means is we've got it loaded up like a normal bike rack but we've got this swing base arm at the bottom so it does have the ability to tilt away from the vehicle. I'll show you with the handle underneath you can pull it, tilt the whole rack down and use that to get quick and easy hatch access. Even on the 4Runner here with the very large hatch, it still does clear with plenty of room because of how aggressively it tilts. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT Premium Four Bike Rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. This is a hanging-style bike rack that's gonna hold our bike by the frame. It hangs down by the frame there, held in by these two straps over the top the frame, and a third one around the seat post, limiting our side-to-side movement. It's not gonna fully eliminate that movement, but it does help quite a bit and prevent bike-to-bike contact. You are gonna have some limitations with this being a hanging-style bike rack because it's hanging by the frame, you wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage it. more

It's gonna be a four-bike bike rack that holds the bikes by the wheels, so there's gonna be no frame contact whatsoever. Why it's so important that it holds it by the wheels and no frame contact is sometimes on platform-style bikes, you're gonna have that center mast here or a hook comes down and makes contact that could scratch up your bikes and limit you on what kind of bikes you can actually put on a four-bike bike rack. So you're not gonna wanna do a carbon fiber bike on there 'cause it could scratch or damage that frame. Also, there's nothing in the way here when you go to set the bikes in place so it makes loading and unloading far easier. more

There's a built-in collar around the shank, which will stop us where we need to, to make sure our pins are aligned. And once this collar is lined up, the pinhole should be lined up as well. How's it going everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 bike platform bike rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. This gonna be a good entry level way for you to get up to four bikes where you need 'em to go. Bike rack allows a weight capacity of up to 35 pounds per bike, so nothing crazy. And it will hold onto our bike primarily through these padded clamps that are able to move up and down our center mast as well as they ratchet and rotate around 360 degrees to accommodate for a couple of different frames, styles, and sizes. Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman CURRENT eBike Rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. The first thing we're gonna need to do is get the actual rack into the hitch. We have a 1 1/4 shank here, with our two-by-two-inch adaptive sleeve that fits into our 2-inch receiver tube. We found that once you basically line up the adapter sleeve with the outside of the receiver tube, then your pinhole will probably be lined up pretty okay. If It's not, you just can just wiggle it up and down a little bit till you get to where you need it to go. more

Additionally, it does have an off-road and an RV rating of 40 pounds per bike, so it's nice that it's versatile like that as well. The way that this bike rack holds onto our bike is primarily through the use of these rotated padding clamps that are on the center mast here. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going everybody It's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. So, this is a bike rack that you're gonna wanna use if you do have heavier bikes like e-bikes, because it does support up to 70 pounds per bike. Additionally, it does come with a ramp, that we'll get into just a little bit later, to help you get the get the bike off of the rack itself. Now, it holds our bike primarily on the frame through these padded clamps. So in the event that you're using a carbon frame bike, or an alternative frame style bike, specifically carbon frame, we don't recommend these types of racks, because it does make that frame contact and could potentially damage your frame while it's moving. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Tesla Model 3- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at how the Kuat Piston Pro X fits on the 2018 Tesla Model 3. So this hitch was just recently installed on the Model 3, so that they can carry around some bike racks. Now, the Kuat Piston Pro X is an awesome bike rack, because of how you have the weight capacity, you are able to use the pistons, it has a fancy-schmancy way of opening up to load the bikes on and off and take them right back off. So very quick, very easy process, but also, it's a premium bike rack with premium features. So the first thing we'll take a look at, this is how it looks when you have it all folded up, you're able to open up your trunk if needed, you're not hitting that bike rack. If you do have the wiring added to your Tesla Model 3, you will be able to take advantage of the wiring on the bike rack. more
