Best 1994 Ford Explorer Hitch Options

Today on our 1994 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options available. Our best hitch options are both Class III, and they feature a 2" by 2" opening. First one's going to be the Curt, and that's part number 13540, and the second one's going to be our Draw-Tite, and that's part number 75096. As you can see, the two are a little bit different. We have the round-tube construction here on the Curt that's going to hang just below our bumper, and then on the bottom for the Draw-Tite, you've got the square-tube construction that's just going to hang just below your bumper. Both hitches are going to feature a reinforced collar here at the end, and also a 5/8" hitch pin hole, which is not included, but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com, part number PC3. The Draw-Tite here features an extra hole. more

Next I'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories, such as balm out, bicycle rack or cargo carrier. Top of the receiver opening, down to the ground will be about sixteen and a half inches. And from the center of the hitch pin hold to the edge of the bumper will be about two and three quarter inches. Now go ahead and I'll show you how the hitch is installed. First thing we do is go ahead and show you where the hitch mounts up to the frame. more
