Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Toyota Prius- Video

Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 platform rack for inch and a quarter hitches, part number NV12G. We already have a bike installed on the rack so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we'll come to the front here to this lever, pull it towards us and holding on the bike rack, you come down gently and now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. To put it back in it's original position just lift up. And you're good to go. How this bike actually attaches to the rack, there's going to be two points of contact. We're going to have this padded wheel hook up at the front and this wheel strap at the rear. Now the wheel strap is adjustable along the arm here to accommodate different sized bikes. more

Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 bike rack, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can swing away from the vehicle so you can gain rear hatch access with the bike still on the rack, which is pretty unique for a hanging style bike rack. To do that, we'll come to the back here and loosen up this knob, like so. Coming up to the front we'll pull up on the tab here, which will release it, then pull it out to about this position here and swing it around until you hear that 'click' and push it the rest of the way. more

Now, it is padded so once you install your bike, it won't get scratched up. We also have two wheel wells on either side which are adjustable along the arms of the rack. more

The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bikes still attached. To do that, we have this switch up at the front underneath. You pull it towards you and it will tilt away. This is pretty nice considering that most bike racks that have this tilt feature, the lever is actually underneath the front bike which can make it a little bit awkward when you have 2 bikes installed. more

Thule Hitching-Post-Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota Highlander- Video

2015 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule hitching post-pro for a bike rack, part number TH934XTR. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How this bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here, and 1 off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and possibly colliding with each other. The cradles themselves are padded and have these grooves on the inside, so you're cables and everything sit inside there and your bike will not get scratched once it is put into place. They are adjustable on the lengths of the arms, to make loading a little bit easier. more

A few things to know about this bike rack that makes it different from other bike racks, we have an anti-sway bar here at the bottom of the mast with four straps. That's going to help prevent our wheels from spinning and help prevent sway on our bikes when we're on the road. We also have a longer shank here, which is going to provide us with additional clearance for things like a spare tire or anything else you might have here at the rear of your vehicle. Today in our 2016 Toyota Four Runner we're doing a test fit of the Yakima Hold-up Platform Style Two Bike Rack. That part number is Y02443. We already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come to the back here and lift up slightly, and we'll be able to pull on our red pin and tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle, with our bikes fully loaded. Now unfortunately, with how long our door is and how close our bike rack is to our vehicle, we're not going to have full access into our back hatch area, but we will have a good amount of access where if we had somebody else hold the door, we can still get stuff in and out if we need to. We'll close that up. Then to put our bike rack back into place, we'll simply lift up until it clicks. As for how our bike rack is secured down here at the back we have a rack string strap, we're just going to pull up on the red button, and then it actually wraps it down using the black portion here. We'll release that just like so. Then at the front we have a wheel hook, which sits either in front of our brakes or in front of our frame, depending on how our bike is made. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma- Video

Today in our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack. Part Number TH9034. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show out some of the features. The first and most important feature of this is the fact that it can tilt away from your vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that we have this grey handle here that we'll pull towards us to let it lower, which is a little more convenient as opposed to other racks where you have the handles up towards the front here and they're just a little more awkward to get it to tilt away. Let's go ahead and do that and we'll pull forward, towards us then let it come down. more

Yakima FullSwing Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video

Today on our 2012 Toyota Forerunner, we'll be doing a test fit on the Yakima Full Swing Four Bike Rack. That's part number Y02465. I've already got it loaded up on the Forerunner just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. It is a hanging style bike rack. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today on our 2014 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Pro 2-bike platform rack, part number TH9034. The first feature I'd like to show off about this bike rack is, with the bike attached we can actually tilt this away from the vehicle to gain access to the rear hatch. To do that, we have this gray handle here at the end. You'll pull that in like so, and it will tilt down. What's kind of nice about that is with other racks that do this, they would have those latches on stuff on this side of the bike rack itself, so it kind of makes it a little awkward to actually tilt this away. Instead, we'll grip it like that, let it come down, and we'll have complete access to the rear hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on both sides to do so. As you can see, since the bike rack is so far away from the vehicle itself, I have no problem getting anything back here. Now to put the bike back in its original position you just grab it again by the handle area and just lift up, and it will click back into place. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Toyota Highlander th912xtr- Video

Today on our 2014 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway 2-Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now that this bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here and 1 strap off to the side, and that's going to be an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from going too far back and forth possibly hitting the bike in front of it. Let's go and take the bike off and set it aside. With the bike rack in this position, let me go ahead and give you a couple of quick measurements, starting from the edge of the bumper to the outer edge here, we've added about 30 inches to the rear of the vehicle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Toyota Highlander th9029xt- Video

Today on our 2014 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-Bike Rack, part number TH9029XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first one I'd like to show off is that it has an integrated cable lock here in the center of the mast. You pull it out, wrap it around your bikes, and attach it to the front portion here. There's a little slot and then there's a lock at the end for additional security to prevent theft and tampering. The cradles themselves are adjustable and also has 3 points of contact that it grips the bike with. It has 2 strap up at the top and 1 off to the side, and that's going to be an anti-sway cradle to keep the bikes from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting each other and damaging each other. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today, on our 2014 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. As this bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact with the bike's frame, and that's going to be this padded hook at the time. That's going to ensure that your bike doesn't get scratched once you install it. We also have these two wheel cradles on either side, which if you loosen those knobs at the top here, you can actually adjust those the length of the bike rack to accommodate different size bikes and to make loading a little bit easier. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more
