The Sport Rider is a platform style bike rack that's been designed for used with e-bikes. It has an 80 pound capacity per bike which is really impressive. A lot of other e-bike racks stay around that 60 pound mark maybe a little higher, like 66 but 80 pounds is very impressive so it's gonna work with some of those heavier e-bikes that other racks might not be able to. more

So the Curt Premium is one of my favorite racks when it comes to how many bikes it can carry without being so difficult. With hanging racks it's really tough to get different frames up on there, but this has a unique design where it's more narrow towards the front, making it easier for those mountain bikes or those smaller bikes. Now you are gonna have to have a hitch on your Odyssey to use this. So make sure to get the two inch version. Now here we have one, two, and three touch points. more

Now, StageTwo is a platform style bike rack capable of holding up to two bikes. It's gonna hold them by the front tire up here, and that means zero frame contact, meaning we're good for carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and e-bikes, because it does have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike. So it's also gonna be good for some of those heavier e-bikes, because it does go bit above and beyond some of the other e-bike racks that we carry. The MonoRail is a platform style bike rack, holding up to two bikes and holding them by your wheel primarily, the front tire here really. Now, that's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and does have a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, making it good for some e-bikes too. Like many other platform racks in this class, we have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. Doing that's pretty simple, we've got a color coded blue handle at the back that we can pull and tilt down, and we do have a pretty impressive tilt on this bike rack, giving us tons of room to open up the back of our vehicle, get something out of the back if we need it, or just have a nice place to sit and change our shoes before or after a ride. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2-Bike Rack on our 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The Destination is a 2-bike platform style rack that holds a bike by the frame here. It uses a cradle with a strap around the frame to hold it in place, so it is going to be good for alternative frame bikes, because that cradle does rotate 360 degrees, and it's height adjustable. Now, because it makes frame contact, we still want to avoid carbon frame bikes, because we do risk damaging the frame by making frame contact, and it has a 35 pound weight capacity per bike, so just stay within those limits and you should be just fine. This doesn't have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded, so if you want hatch access to the vehicle, whether it be to get something out of the back or just sit there while we change our shoes before or after our ride, we will have to have the bikes unloaded first with the center mast folded down. more

The Destination E-Bike Rack is a bike rack designed for e-bikes. You've got a 70 pound capacity per bike, so good for even some of those heavier e-bikes, and then it's gonna hold the bike by the frame. Because it holds the bike by the frame, we do want to avoid carbon frame bikes, because this can damage the frame, having that clamp around there and putting pressure on it, but because that clamp rotates and turns 60 degrees and can adapt to the shape of your frame, alternative frame bikes should be just fine. Other than that, we do have the ability to tilt this rack away with the bikes loaded, because it is a platform style rack, and a more premium platform style rack at that. more

We got great weight capacity at 70 pounds for your heavy electric bikes but also when carrying multiple bikes, it is staggered so you get really good clearance with your handlebars and your seats and things like that. The Destination E is an impressive rack for those extra heavy electric bikes. You have a ramp included. You have a 70 pound weight capacity and you have a versatile frame mount. So whether you have a step through bike or let's say a women's frame or alternate frame this is gonna work for that. Now we have some features here and this has an almost 90 degree tilt away but I did notice with that tilt away though is that it just doesn't go down far enough for our tailgate. more

It's gonna hold the bike by our front tire here and it's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and with that 60-pound weight capacity, good for e-bikes too. It is gonna have a lot of nice premium features in there, including some integrated cable locks into the end channels here that can just slot right back in and directly lock your bikes to the bike rack. They can be a little tricky to slide back in, but it's nice if they're built-in and able to be stored here for later use. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The OnRamp is a platform style bike rack primarily designed to hold e-bikes. It's got a 66 pound weight capacity per bike and it's gonna hold the bike by the frame primarily here. It's a cradle with a strap wrapped around the frame, holding it in place with two wheel straps at the bottom as secondary points of contact. It does hold the bike pretty well in the rack and because it makes frame contact we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes but these cradles will slide up and down if you loosen it up and rotate 360 degrees so they can accommodate alternative frames pretty well. more

It's up in these cradles with two straps over top of that frame, and a third one around our seat post as our anti-sway cradle. That's gonna limit our side to side movement, not fully eliminating it, but definitely helping reducing bike-to-bike contact, or in some cases, bike-to-vehicle contact. You can see our front wheel does like to move around a bit here, and if it we're to move enough, it might make contact with the vehicle. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Kuat Transfer on our 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The Transfer is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike in these cradles and primarily by our front tire right here. Our wheel hook comes down and holds that pretty firmly in place and that's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. Now this version of the bike rack only has a 40-pound weight capacity per bike, so not good for e-bikes, but if you upgrade to the strictly two-inch version, this one can work with inch and a quarter or two inch hitches, but there is a version that is strictly for two inch hitches that has a added weight capacity that's 60 pounds per bike. So if you need that e-bike compatibility and you have a two-inch hitch, I'd go with that one. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp HD on our 2022 Honda CR-V. The SuperClamp is going to be a platform style bike rack, holding the bike in these cradles, and primarily, by the tires. We've got a wheel hook on either tire, and some secondary points of contact in those cradles, just some wheel straps holding it down in place. and that's gonna give us a really solid hold of the bike in the bike rack. Now, like many other bike racks in this class, we have the ability to tilt it away with bikes loaded. more

So this bike rack is a simple, minimalist bike rack but if you need that quick and easy access to your hatch, this one tilts away to make that happen. So this is one of your more affordable platform racks. Definitely an upgrade from your hanging racks. You definitely want platform in terms of stability but compared to the Swagman XC2, this one actually has straps. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Swagman XTC2TILT on our 2022 Honda CR-V. Now the XTC is a platform style bike rack. It holds a bike in these wheel hoops at the bottom and primarily holding it in place with this frame hook up top. That's gonna hold it down in those wheel hoops and keep it secure. And the frame contact is gonna mean that we wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with E-trailer. Today we're taking a look at the Rhino Rack Hanging style bike rack on our 2022 Honda CR-V. This is gonna be a hanging style rack that holds a bike by the frame up here in these cradles. We've got held down with these two straps on top and a third one around the seat post to act as our anti-sway cradle. That's gonna limit the side to side movement of the bike a little bit and help with bike to bike contact. more

This is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays and primarily with a cradle up here on the frame. It's gonna have a strap run around the frame that keeps it in the cradle, and it's gonna hold it, actually really well. We've got two secondary points of contact on each wheel these wheel straps that pull it down and in . Because it makes frame contact, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage the frame. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Curt Premium four bike rack on our 2022 Honda CR-V. Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style rack which means the bike hangs by the frame. We've got two straps over the frame at the top here keeping it down in the cradles. And the third one on the seat post, the seat post strap is gonna limit that side to side movement. It's still there, but it does help limit it and reduce bike to bike contact or in some cases even bike to vehicle contact. You can see our front tire doesn't really wanna sit still right here so I might consider adding a cam buckle strap from the tire to the frame just to keep it still. more

Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 Kia EV6- Video
Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Kia EV6, we're gonna be checking out the Kuat Sherpa platform style bike rack. First impression of the rack on the back of the Kia, I think it's a good fit, actually. It's relatively compact for what it is, and it's relatively lightweight, as well. Generally speaking, for real nice platform style racks like this, a lot of times they have quite a bit of weight to 'em, and it's really not the case with this one, which is good, because a lot of times electric vehicles aren't rated to handle a ton of weight. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Kia EV6, we're gonna be checking out the Kuat NV 2.0 platform style bike rack. First impressions of the rack on the back of the Kia. I think it looks good, it's a little bit larger of a rack but it's still actually fits the back of the EV6. You know, looking back at it it's really wide for the most part, so still a good matchup. One of the cool things about this particular setup though is you can kind of grow into the rack or customize it if you will. more

Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hi there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're gonna be taking a look at Curt's Two Bike Platform Rack. And this rack you can see here is gonna be a two bike platform-style rack which means your wheels will be supported in the cradles for both the driver and passenger side for your front and back wheel. And then it's secured in place on top with our hook here. And this is a pretty quick and easy way to get your bike strapped up. Some of the other models they have other straps, or your hanging styles are not really the the best type here. more

Hey, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at how the Saris SuperClamp HD two-bike platform rack fits on the 2020 Ford F-150. So, the SuperClamp HD is a great all-around bike rack. It's very interesting in its design because you have a front wheel mount, a rear wheel mount, and you have wheel straps. It's also good to be used with your RVs and if you're flat towing your F-150. more
