Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan. This is a tilting and folding 4-bike rack designed for use in both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S63410. Now to begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Now as we slide it in we're going to want to line up the threaded hole with the hitch pinhole. We can then thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down with our wrench. We'll then secure it on the other side with the provided clip. The rack's going to offer about 12-1/2" worth of ground clearance. more

Today, on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler folding and tilting 5 bike rack designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Its part number is HR9200. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in, we're going to want to line the threaded hole in the hitch, or in the rack, rather, up with the hitch pin hole. Those in line, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it on the other side using the provided clip. In this position, the rack is going to offer us about 9 1/2 inches' worth of ground clearance. more

We can then take our anti-rattle bolt, that's got to go in from this side, thread it in from the passenger to the driver's side. We'll tighten it down with our wrench. We'll then secure it using our provided clip. more

To begin our test fit, we're going to go ahead and insert the shank of the rack into our hitch. You'll want to watch for the pin holes to line up. Then you'll take the included anti-rattle hitch lock and insert that. Go ahead and get that hand-tight. Then secure the rest of the way with your wrench. Then you'll just snap the end of the lock into place and remove the key. With our bike installed, we'll get a few clearance measurements. more

Well line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We can then secure it with a clip. In this position, we have about 11-1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of our rack to our vehicles about 4 inches and overall, weve added about 12-1/2 inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the yellow T handle at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see, this gives us full access to the rear hatch. more

We'll line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then we'll tighten it down with a wrench. With our rack in this position, we'll have about eleven inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is going to be about three and a half inches, and overall we've added about nine and a half inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the gray lever at the base of our center mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle and as you can see this does give us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the gray lever located on the top. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero. A tilting two bike rack for 1 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number Th9042. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll want to hold on the attached pin, line up our pinholes, allow the attached pin to fall in the hole, then we can use the black knob to tighten it. This will engage our anti-rattle device and further secure our rack to our vehicle. Pulling the gray lever at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see here, this does give us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position we'll pull the gray lever at the top of the rack, this is going to allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With our arms extended, we've added about 26 inches to the overall length of the Cherokee. It's now time to load our bike. more

The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about eight inches and overall we've added about twenty-three inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the two black pins on the outside on the rear of the rack will allow us to tilt out our wheel cradles. We'll reinsert the pin to secure them in place. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element parallelogram, a tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number SR26248. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin hole, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. In this position, we have about 11-1/4 inches worth for ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Cherokee is about 2 inches, and overall, we've added about 11 inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the 2 silver pins at the top of the mast will allow us to tilt out our cradle arms. We'll secure these in place by reinserting the pins. With our arms extended, we've added about 28-1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We're now ready to load our bike, and we'll first undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place it on the cradles, and secure it with the straps. One of the great features of the Softride Element parallelogram is its ability to tilt away from your vehicle even with your bike loaded. more

The closest point of the rack to the back of the Cherokee is about 7 3/4 of an inch. Overall, we've added about 14 inches to the vehicle. Pulling the gold pin at the base of the bike rack will allow us to tilt it down into its platform position. We'll reinsert the pin to secure it. As you can see this does give us full access to our rear hatch. In this position, our ground clearance at the rear of the rack is going to be about 18 1/2 inches. Our closest points remain the same at 7 3/4 of an inch. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow and Go three bike rack for 2 inch ball mounts. Part number HR135. We will be using the Hidden Hitch super long ball mount with the inch rise or 2 inch drop, part number 80232, which is not included. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up the pinholes and install our pin and clip. With a standard ball mount, the rack does have a little bit of movement. If you would like an anti-rattle device please see our website for details. Pulling the pin at the top of the mast will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms; we're then ready to load our bike. To do this we'll want to undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place it onto the cradles, and secure it by tightening the straps. With our bike secure we're ready to head down the road and that will complete today's test fit for the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow and Go three bike rack, part number HR135, on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee. more

Today on our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test-fitting the Saris Freedom Platform-Style Hitch-Mounted Four-Bike Rack, part number SA 4414B. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it down with a wrench, and then securing with the cotter pin on the other side. With the bike rack secure, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about sixteen inches of ground clearance at the back of the bike rack. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about four inches away, and we've added about seventeen inches to the overall length of our Jeep. We'll now go ahead and pull on the gray lever at the top of the platform, which will allow us to tilt the platform down. As you can see with the rack in this position, we do have full access to the rear hatch. We have about twenty-three and a half inches of ground clearance at the back of the bike rack. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Today on our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow 'N Go 3-bike rack, part number HR135. We'll be using the Hidden Hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and securing it with the pin and clip. Keep in mind, the ball mount, hitch ball, and pin and clip are all sold separately. Now, since the ball mount is secured with a standard 5-inch hitch pin and clip, you can see that there is going to be some rattle within the hitch. You can eliminate this rattle by purchasing an anti-rattle device found on our website. Now, to load up a bike, we'll go ahead and remove the block pin at the top of the mast, which is going to allow us to swing the cradle arms of the bike rack outward. We'll now go ahead and undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the rubber straps. With our bike all loaded up, that'll complete today's test fit of the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow 'N Go, part number HR135, on our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. . more

Saris Axis 3 Bike Rack Review - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Today on our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be testing fitting the Saris Axis Hitch Mounted, Aluminum, Hanging 3-Bike Rack, part number SA843B. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pinholes we'll thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secure, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 6 inches away and we have added about 14 inches to the overall length of our jeep. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the yellow levers at the top of the mast, which will allow us to slide the cradle arms over into the smooth portion and bring them up, lining up the grooves, and then clamp down the yellow levers, which is going to secure the arms in place. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 24 inches to the overall length of our Grand Cherokee. To access the cargo area, we'll pull out on the yellow t-handle, located at the base of the bike rack, which will allow us to tilt the mast of the rack down, giving us full access to the rear hatch. To load up a bike, we'll need to make sure the mast of the rack is in its upright position. We'll then undo the ratcheting straps, and place our bike into the frame cradles. more

Today on our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV Platform Style Aluminum Two Bike Rack, part Number N101. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll insert the pin into the pin holes and secure with a lock on the other side. We'll then go ahead and turn the black knob at the back of the shank, which will engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. With the bike rack in this position, we have about fourteen and a half inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about three inches away. We have added about fifteen and a half inches to the overall length of our jeep. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the orange lever at the base of the bike rack, which is going to allow us to tilt the platform down. With the platform in this position, we have about twenty-two inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about seven inches away. We've added about thirty-three inches to the overall length of our Grand Cherokee. As you can see, the platform in this position we can easily access the rear hatch. more

We will allow the integrated hinge pin to fall in to place and we will then turn the black hand knob to engage the anti rattle device. With the bike rack secured we will go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 24 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the bike rack. Closet part of the bike rack to the closet part of the vehicle is about a quarter of an inch away here at the spare tire. more

Today, on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Rack Traveler Five-Bike Carrier, Part Number HR9200.To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line-up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench.Now that our Hollywood Rack Traveler is secured to our Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 11-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Grand Cherokee is here at the rear bumper about 13 inches away. We've added about 17 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.We'll now undo the black knobs from the left and right-hand side of the mast towards the top to swing out our cradle arms. We'll then turn the knobs to lock the arms in place, and we have about 39 inches of overall length added to the vehicle with the cradle arms out.To access the cargo area, we'll pull the pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. This will allow us to have access to our vehicle's cargo door.To load the bike, we'll make sure the mast is in its upright position. more

Today, we'll be using it with a 2-inch hitch so we've already gone ahead and install the included adapter onto the bike rack shank. We can now slide the shank of the bike rack into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and using the included anti-rattle bolt, we'll insert it and tighten it down, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. Now with the bike rack secured, we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack measures 17-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack here at the mast to the back of the vehicle measures 12-1/2 inches. more

Now using the included 2-inch adapter, we'll slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and insert our hitch pin. We'll then move to the back of the shank where we'll turn the knob, tightening down the anti-rattle device securing the bike rack to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack with the platform in the stored position measures 22-1/2 inches. From the closest point of the bike rack here at the wheel cradle to the back of the vehicle measures 6 inches. more

Well line up the hitch pin holes then thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. Next well go over a couple of clearance measurements. Weve got about 22 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground, however keep in mind that our Jeep today does have aftermarket suspension and tires. Weve got about a of an inch of clearance between our aftermarket spare tire and the bike rack and overall weve added about nine inches of length. more
