Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Kuat NV platform-style four-bike rack, part number N105-107. As you can see, we've already got it on the back of our vehicle with a bike in place and fully installed so you can see what it's going to look like on the back of your full-sized SUV or truck. In this case, on the back of our Jeep. It's going to have a two-inch shank to attach to our two-inch receiver, and we're going to start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement, from the front side of the rack at about 5-7/8 inches. Overall distance we've added to the vehicle will be from the rear of the bumper to the back side of the rack at about 46 inches, with that rear ground clearance of about 21 inches. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Inno Tire Hold III. This will be your platform style 3 bike rack, part number INH305-306. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here on our platform, already installed and in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it on the back of your vehicle. Now note that this does come with your 1-1/4" shank with a 2" adapter, so it will fit your class I, II, and III receivers. Just keep in mind that with your class I receivers that you will only be able to carry up to 2 bikes. Now with your class II and your class III, you will be able to carry all III. Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the CURT Premium 4 hanging-style 4-bike rack, part number C18064. As you can see, we've already got a bike in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and on the back of your Jeep. Now let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement is going to be from the t-handle here on the front to the backside of the bumper at about 3-5/8". Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle will be from the rear of the bumper to the backside of the cradle arms at about 33", and our ground clearance at about 12-5/8" to the bottom side of the shank here. Next let's talk about how the bike is secured to our rack. You're going to have a lower hanging strap on every other side, or as you can see here, triangular cradles with two straps or one straps. This one straps is going to be your frame strap over the top. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video

Today, on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be your hanging style 4-bike rack, and as you can see we've already got it up here on our vehicle, fitted with a bike on it, so you can see how it'll look and fit before we go through all the measurement. Our measurement we're going to give is going to be from the back of the bumper to the beginning of the rack because depending on what kind of spare tire you have and/or what kind of receiver hitch you have will determine how far it's going to sit away from the vehicle. With this particular receiver hitch that sits out, the receiver sits out 4-3/4 inches, so from that receiver . we'll just do from the center of the pin hole back, it's going to be about 6-1/2 inches. From the center of the pin hole and back, 6-1/2 to here. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle with the cradle arms out is going to be about 41-1/2 inches, with a rear ground clearance of about 17-3/4 inches. All right. more

One of the first things that we are going to talk about is how we have our bike up here and strapped in. As you can see we have it up here so you can see what it looks like and how it fits on the vehicle before we go into all the measurements. Our first measurement is going to be our closest distance first. Our receiver here does come out from the bumper about 4 1/2 inches now depending on if you have this style or you have the flush mount my vary the closest distance. Also if you have a stock tire instead of your off road tire that would make a difference as well. All right once we've get that lined up, we'll go ahead and take our anti-rattle bolt and pin, go ahead and start threading that through. All right and then we can finish that off with our wrench and by tightening this it's going to help reduce the play and rattle within our hitch and our bike rack and put our clip in. We can take a few measurements. Starting with our nearest point, it's going to be about 11 1/2 inches from here to our bumper. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we are going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom Super Clamp platform style 2 bike rack, that is part number SA4025 and this bike rack is suited for 1 1/4 as well as 2 inch hitches. To begin, we are going to place the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch until our pin holes are aligned and once they are, we can begin threading in our anti rattle bolt. Once that is hand tightened, we can finish tightening that with our wrench. Give it a shake test to ensure there is no movement within the hitch and then place your clip on the other side and then we are ready to do some measurements. We are going to start by checking ground clearance. With this bike rack offers about 18 1/2 inches of ground clearance. We are going to check the position of the bike rack to the nearest point of the vehicle which is the rear bumper and the nearest point of this bike rack is going to be about 14 1/2 inches from the rear bumper. more

It's designed for use in the 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches. It's part number is Y02462. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We want to make sure that our silver anti-rattle device slides in and we'll watch for the small silver pin to pop out in our pin hole just like that. I like to pull the rack back at that point just to give us as much clearance room as there is available. more

We're going to begin our test fit by sliding the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in there we'll want to keep an eye out for our pinholes to line up with each other. Then we'll take our anti-rattle bolt and thread it through, making sure we start here on the driver side and go through to the passenger side. Once we get the anti-rattle bolt finger tight we can then use a wrench or socket wrench to finish tightening it all the way down. With this bolt tight it's really going to help take out any rattle or wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. more

We're going to begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in there, we'll go ahead and look for our pinholes to line up with each other. Then we can take our anti-rattle bolt and install it from driver's side to passenger side. Then we can just thread it through. Once we get this hand tight, we'll just use our socket wrench to secure it all the way down. With it fully tight, it's really going to help eliminate some rattle and wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. We'll simply just install the clip on the other side, and then we can go over some measurements. This bike rack is going to give us a ground clearance of about18-1/4 of an inch. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is just going to measure the mass here at the top. more

Today on our 2004 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to do a test fit on the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack. It's been designed for use with 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do, we'll line up our threaded hole with our hitch pin hole. We can then take our threaded anti-rattle bolt and we'll just thread that in until we have it hand tight. more

As we do this, we're going to want to line the threaded hole up with the hitch pin hole. With those lined up, we'll now take our anti-rattle bolt, we'll thread it in from the left to the right and then we can tighten it down using our wrench. We'll then use the provided clip on the other side to secure it. more
